The search is over part 2

The search is over part 2.....and i lied. The search is not over. And if you're unfamiliar with my life/blog then basically i've been on a nail varnish hunt (please see older posts for more info and pictures).

I am still on the search for beanie, beige style and eyeko's posh polish but at the moment i'm feeling pretty placated.

So after the success in matalan i was feeling pretty joyful and when i saw that boots was still open (10minutes till closing!) I ran in and homed in on the no7 section - no beanie :( I then ran to the rimmel section - no beige style (NB: My apologies, i think that, even though both boots and superdrugs stock rimmel, it seems that beige style is an exclusive colour to superdrugs...i might be wrong though...)

I then went to leave the store when i saw a stand- alone section of more no7 products. Adrenaline pumping i approached the stand and a quick once over confirmed that there was no beanie but i saw nail polish and the word 'exclusive' so i took a closer look and bam i fell in like with "60's mini skirt" [£6.75 -pictured below]which is a anniversary colour, part of the No7 Decades collection.

Here's what the Boots website says:
"To mark 75 years of bringing the latest make-up looks and colour to the high street, No7 and No7 creative director and make-up artist, Lisa Eldridge, have developed the limited edition No7 Decades Collection.
Celebrating seven decades of beautiful colour, it comprises of the most iconic eye shadow, lipgloss and nail colours from the forties to the noughties, as well as a hero compact containing everything you need to create a fabulously modern No7 look.
As part of the limited edition collection; No7 is re-releasing the most iconic nail colours of the past seven decades."

Please note that in all pictures my nails are unpainted *gasp!*I only swatched afterwards.

As you can see from the pic 60's mini skirt is a creamy erm cream. Despite the bad photo it's actually pretty true to life. I've just painted my left hand and i must say, i'm not impressed. The first cause of my disappointment is my own thought; i thought it would be more...more more!! But like i said, it's exactly as it looks like. The second disappointment is due to the consistency of the polish itself. I've never had a No7 nail polish and i must say, if they are all like this then i think i'll skip beanie!! First coat was yuck but it says 2 coats so i applied a second and its still streaky in places and then too thick in others. To be fair, from my experience with nail colours the creamy matt colours do tend to be more difficult so it could be that. I will give it another chance though becasue if i can get this nice and smooth it is a gorgeoius colour and perfect for the lighter days.

Next up we have nails inc in 'london'. And what is extra special about this? I got it FREE by buying two bottles of diet coke!!!!!!!!!! WOW WOW WOW!!! As i was about to pay for my 60's mini skirt i passed a massive stand of nails inc and saw the promo and i nearly died right there and then. But lucky i didn't die, i got my mum to grab 4 bottles of diet coke and i picked up london and my mum got paris (it's one offer per customer otherwise i would have got 50!)

'london' is gorgeous. it's nails inc so needless to say the formulation is amazing, absolutely beautiful. colour-wise i thought it'd be taupe (wishful thinking?!); it's decribed as a nude but i'd say mink?Might not go with all skin tones but if you like the colour definitely get it!

Below we have 'paris' which my mum got. She wanted the red ('milan') or the hot pink ('new york') but i pointed out she already as nails inc in red and pink (might not be milan or new york but it can't be that different - i'm not crazy or wasteful)

The two photo's i took are awful. The colour is nothing like that. But if you take a look at the last picture then you can see the true colour pay off.
