Dorothy Perkins ankle boots

I'M SO HAPPY!!!

I've been wanting to jump on the cut out boot trend for a while now but frankly couldn't afford what I'd seen. Then I saw these ankle boots in DP for £35! They obviously look quite cheap but I love them!!! And...with a few online discount codes I got them for £25!!!!!!!!!

The heel height is perfect for me - comfortable enough to walk to and from work but high enough to stop me being a total dude. The cut out if showy enough but not impractical - my feet didn't get wet in the rain. I love the wrap around strap and the gold hardwear. I'm sure that you will see this in many OOTD's soon! The only thing I don't like is personal to me but I'll tell you anyway - these are a size 7 and a tiny bit big for more, so there is a lot of stomping going on. But I even enjoy stomping, reminds me that I have my new booties on :)

Are you starting to get ready for autumn yet? I can't wait!

World Wide Webb

Hello :)

Just a quick disorganised post. Excuse the mess but [above] wanted to share with you an outfit I'm enjoying wearing. It's still dress down at work and the overly hot weather seems to have left us, so this outfit works really well. Black skinny jeans, oversize denim shirt (newlook inspire), red zara studded shoes.
Casual, but not escaped from the nuthouse casual.
My friend came to stay with me. Before chillaxing at Penny Palace she had to buy some socks. How cute are these? £1 from newlook!

My friend Webb is the only person to have slept over at Penny Palace (well my mum and brother stayed  a few days but that was out of necessity....they weren't invited and they were swiftly booted out asap). Usually my mum will drop off bed stuff and extra towels when Webb comes to town, but this time I purchased my own Webb pack. Double duvet and a pair of pillows from Argos - less than £12, and this cute totally un-Penny duvet cover was from...Morrisns!!! It was only £12. I decided to get something bright and cheesy so that it'd be easily identifiable as Webb's stuff -  as all my bed stuff are plain white. My other friend A kindly gave me one of those sucky vacuum bags to put all of Webb's stuff in. I haven't tested it out yet as Webb is due to visit again soon so I thought that I might as well wait until she's out of the country before packing her stuff away until next year. It's a great idea though - the reason why I never kept her stuff with me in the first place was due to space - lack of it - so hopefully this will only take up a tiny bit of drawer space.

Hope you're enjoying August!

Outfits of the Week

Hi Guys,

Just a few more outfit of the days - even though it's not super hot anymore it's still dress down at work (tomorrow will be the start of week 3 of dress down - I feel like a student again!).

First up - what a horrid look - literally my face is urgh! But oh well. I'm wearing my newlook inspire neon heart t shirt with my dorothy perkins light bleach eden jeggings. Got some old primark gladiator white and gold sandals on my feet and my new favourite bag. I think this was the most casual I've ever been apart from pj's,

I really like this outfit - I'm wearing denim so it is dress down but I'm also wearing a lace peplum top so I still feel like 'me'. The jeans are from Very and top is from asos curve (£12.50 in the sale). Paired with nude primark ballet pumps and my new favourite bag again.

I also liked this outfit; it was really comfortable but still quite 'nice'. Grey skinnies from Very, black dip hem t shirt from Very, red shoes from Zara.

Here's a close up of my two new favourite items - both gifted by my mummy.

Light tan bag from accessorise - rrp £40 but my mum got it for £6!!!When she gave me this I really didn't like it but once I carried it I haven't switched out bags since.

Red stud shoes with cut out sides and ankle strap (squashed under bag) - what's not to love? Zara and my mum got them for £7.99 in the sale!!!!!!!!!

This is me doing casual bling lol Converse (omg these need their own post!), eden jeans and an oversized t shirt from asos with giant sparkly gems on the shoulders.

Images above and below same OOTD (obviously) - This is my go to when it's over 24 degrees. I know it looks like a lot of black but I can't be wearing hot pants so I like this. Black maxi skirt with slit from Primark, top from H&M (I think it was £3!) and my old primark sandals.

And I end this post with a boring shot of my primark nude pumps (£4) - I love them.

I'm trying hard not to buy 13442 pairs.

KIKO - full protection stick foundation

Hi Guys,

Just a very tiny haul of two (of the same) item from make up brand/store KIKO. KIKO is an Italian brand established in 1997. I hadn't heard of it until last year, as there is a small KIKO store in Westfield's (Stratford City) .

I've always wanted to try some bits but I didn't really need any make up so didn't get an opportunity until now. I like how the store is set out and that the bits are easy to sample. I was only accompanying my friend but I saw a whole bunch (16 shadesI think?!) of stick foundations and a sale sign so obviously I had to have a look; it would have been rude not to.

I swatched a few and liked the look of 2, 3 and 4 and I asked the sales lady to help me and she put some on my face (absolutely disgusting - she used a disposable sponge but used it on the display sticks aaarrggghh)and she said 3 looked good so I grabbed that, and then I also said I wanted to get a darker shade to use as contour so she suggested 6 (which once blended is not as dark as the swatch below looks!).

This isn't a review - just a little haul - so I can't give you my two cents (onepenny's) worth yet but they are smooth and creamy and more importantly I forgot to say, they were £4.90 each on sale. I've looked at reviews (after my purchase) and I think the main thing is that this is not going to be good for oily skin/at controlling oily skin. I do have combination skin but the reason why I got this on a whim is because I love foundation sticks for touch ups during the day. I would never use a stick as part of my main morning routine because I need a relatively heavy coverage and I need it to last. But these sticks are great to throw in your bag for an emergency.

I don't know if it's just me but I find reapplying foundation difficult. Well, not difficult I'm not stupid - but I mean it never looks good. My combination skin is literally oil slick oily and then crusty dry and once I've worked an 8 hour shift putting on a powder or a 'proper' foundation makes me look like a peeling face blotchy zombie.

I find that a foundation stick is the perfect lightness and creaminess for this facial situation. I blot my face and then draw a stripe down my nose, jawline, forehead and then a line on each cheekbone, and then I blend blend blend with my hands. A foundation stick makes my face a nice even tone and covers any normal redness - just enough to get me through say a quick trip to Westfield's or KFC ;) lol

Have you tried anything from KIKO before? Any recommendations? Also, there are a few sale bits on their website right now. Just saying!

My Miu Miu love <3

Hello hello! I told you that I had a better treat and here it is!!! My much wanted and loved miu miu travel card holder :)

Some people think I'm crazy but I'm a bag/purse type lover so I know that this will serve me well and be much used. I take it out everyday and it's not sitting in a box gathering dust and I'm happy with my purchase.

This is exactly what I wanted - pink, cute, bit tacky and an actual card holder as opposed to a single bill credit slip holder (like the mulberry). I only keep my Oyster card in it at the moment but if I was ever to go out I could pop some cash and cards in it too.

I went to the miu miu store in new bond street and honestly the service and experience was pretty shit. But I think I took the smug arseholes attitudes quite well - I knew what I wanted and knew I was paying it, so I was not going to let any mofo in too much hair gel scare me!!!

To be honest I would have not purchased it due to the bad customer service (vote with your feet and purses people) but this item in geranium pink is sold out everywhere so I couldn't afford to walk out.

But yeah. I'm happy :)
