Happily ever after..

Hi Guys!

Hope you have all been well. My week has been the usual, work work work and eat eat eat :) I also watched Inception which I enjoyed but to be honest I wasn't wowed as the rest of the world seemed to be when it was released. *huff*

I also just watched Stardust today on tv and omg that was a wow lol I really really enjoyed it. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys 'that' type of movie.

Watching Dancing on Ice at the moment. I'm not a follower per se but I do enjoy watching the good skaters and checking out the hair and make up on the girls.

Speaking of hair........

Haha! I didn't leave the house like this, I ended up having it out but this is my 'bow' hairstyle. It's difficult to see the detail from the pic but it's quite cool. But definitely not good for work, a bit too much unfortunately.

I can't believe I didn't know, but Diet Coke are currently running their collaboration with Nails Inc again so look what I got my finger (nails) on:

I've currently got denim on my toes, and caramel on my fingers. Caramel is a gorgeous colour, but just like every other neutral/nude, the formula is a bit ick, whereas I wasn't keen on the denim colour but omg the formulation is lovely. It applies like frosting on a cake.

The other two colours are....erm, not too sure of the official names. A pinky (my mum has it - might have to commit family theft if I can't get it in the shops) and a reddish colour. I am on the look out people, if you see me, get out of my way!!! lol

Models own freebie

I'm sure you've seen the tv ad but if you collect 2 tokens from new of the world mag 'fabulous' you can exchange the tokens for this make up kit.

I think it runs for about 3 weeks, this being the 2nd week already. I'm wondering if it's worth the stress of trying to get hold of the mag....

........So since I first typing this post the entire day has gone by. And I went to Tesco's for food and since I was there I did look for the paper. No luck. So thats my choice made then. No models own goodies for me :(

Where are shoe?

Where are shoe. Where are YOU. Geddit?

In my hallway I've got a shoe cupboard. But then I've got more shoes dumped in the halllway. These are my everyday 'go to' shoes so I don't want to move them into the bedroom (where I store my non 'go to' shoes). I'm thinking of getting a simple small freestanding shoe rack so that I can easy chuck my shoes there rather then tripping over them all the time (also, shoes make great door stops don't cha know!)

So I was on Argos and thinking about this:

but then I googled 'shoe storage ideas' as I think that sometimes storage furniture (is that the right term) is sometimes just adding to the junk rather then sorting out the problem (so not a solution but a hindrance) and I wanted some more creative ideas (like hanging your shoes from the chandeliers...? erm...) but what I came across was this; a giant hasmter wheel for your shoes!

They are sold at quite a few places but here's a link in case you are interested:

Shoe Wheel | Shoe Wheel Storage | Shoe Storage Wheel | Rakku Shoe Wheel

If I did get this (no way jose) I would have to get a rainbow array of shoes too. I can't imagine how ugly this wheel would look with my boring pumps. Maybe if the 'wheel' came in a different finish I would like it ?

Saturday Night Fever

So I am no longer working on Saturdays. This is the first time I haven't had a Saturday job since 2001. And it's a bit blah tbh. It's nice not having to wake up to an alarm or to have to commute but I miss my workmates and I actually miss my customers, and I miss the clothes!!!!! :(

And I'm not doing well with my 'extra' day. I haven't made plans for a Saturday, I'm just not use to doing anything on a Saturday.

But S has suggested making a date for a Saturday so that should get me into the swing of things. 2 pj days a week would be a bit too much.

However, I'm making good use of Friday evenings and it's quite nice. I can do dinner or west end shopping without having to be back home for my bedtime.

Yesterday was L's leaving drinks (congrats on the new job and goodluck!) so after work I went to Victoria and we were in Ha Ha's for a good few hours.

[ABOVE PIC ]Do you like the pic I took inside the toilet cubicle?! I love the Ha Ha's toilets, there's mirrors eveeeeeerywhere :)

[ABOVE PIC] This was me and my hair on Thursday. I hadn't combed it at all for about 3 day so wow it was so matted I had no choice but to roll it up. I've got my doughnut to the side and received a few compliments. I did feel a bit silly and OTT (you can't really see the scale in the photo but it was biiiiiig).

The only problem with this style was that I couldn't put my hood up and it was raining on Thursday :( Vanity over practicality as always lol

Gold at the end of the rainbow

One of my (random and materialistic) aims of 2011 is to be the owner of a gold chain necklace.

Those who know me know that I am not a jewelry person. But those who knew me before...say 2003...knows that I use to love jewelry. I was like a yellow and female Mr T!

But anyway, the reason for my no longer being a jewelry wearer is simple. Beginning of the 2000's was when aaaalllll my allergies all kicked in.

I use to wear hoop earrings that could fit all the way up my arm to my armpit; hell, I could even get them around my ankle! I wore chains thick as...little snakes. And my Jesus cross was almost as big as the real thing (no disrespect intended then or now). I loved it all. The tackier then better.

But now I can't wear necklaces, earrings, rings, a watch. Hell, I can't even carry my house keys or loose change for longer then a few minutes :(

However however! Over the festive period I was at my mums and raiding my old stuff and came across a name necklace (the infamous 'carrie' from SATC, mine says 'penny' of course lol) and also a random chain with a pendant on it.

For some reason I wore both (on separate occassions) and /I was fine (touch wood). The 'penny' thing was a bit too short and tacky for more then a few outings but the gold chain is wonderful.

It's 23 inches and I think it it 18karat gold. And that is where the secret lines. I have a nickel allergy (which I've always known) and anyhting 9kt and below contains nickel. The more karats means less/no nickel. So yay me!

The only problem, the less nickel the more ££££££ :(

Obviously a) I am poor and b) my new year resolution is to spend less but we'll see we'll see ;) There is always the bank of mum and dad!!!

Happy (chicken) Feet

Thought I'd share my new year's eve lunch with you. Best lunch in Sutton. Don't think it can be beaten.

Any special occassion means one thing in my family. Noodles. Whether it be 'real noodles' aka chow mein, ho fun, vermicilli or spaghetti we eat noodles for good luck and a long life.

And apart from noodles I also gorged on chicken feet, har gau and mussles. May I always have lovely food to eat!

And no, I didn't eat both plates of noodles. Mine's the mixed meat.
;)

A glass half full?

Hi Guys,

Just some random pics from the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011.

Yes...that is a glass of diet coke. Is it half full or half empty? All I know is that I paid £1.10 for a glass and it arrived like that. I hadn't taken a single sip. I was not a happy bunny and I felt really proud because I (politely) demanded a full glass.

I got this a few months ago from ebay. It is a....I don't really know. Like a mascara guide? Eyelid guard? Basically you use it to protect your eyelids from getting covered in mascara when you are applying it. It's especially useful for those with a 'monolid' ('no' crease in the eyelid). I've used it a few times; it is an improvement on the usual mess I end up with but it's not great for me. I think my eyelids are too fat! It's cool though, I think it was about £1 from Hong Kong and I like playing around with these random 'beauty gadgets'.

GGGRRRR!!!
My new blouse from Evans, £15 in the sales.
What do you think? I'm really into leopard print recently. I love it, but it hasn't proved popular with anyone else. I've only worn it once and maybe it didn't help that on that day I had shite hair and crap make up....Hopefully I'll be able to work it a bit better next time.

I wore it for work so tucked into my skirt but it's actually a really long (sheer) shirt that I'd wear with leggings. The funny thing is that my shirt was a bit longer than my shirt so that's why it's really puffy and not pulled taut.

So the other day I found myself in my favourite La Tasca and my other favourite place, Primark. Fun fun fun!

Give it the boot!

Yesterday I received my asos parcel. I will show you the rest later. But one thing I tried on straight away were these boots.

Let me just be straight: I hate them.

Lace up fold over cuff boot. £25 on sale. There's nothing wrong with the boot itself. But for me, and on me, YUCK

I was going for the 'toughen up a cute outfit' kinda look but it just doesn't work for me, I just look Like I've got someone else's feet.

And on a more practical side, they hurt like hell! I initially put them on the wrong feet (DUH!!!) but when I put them onto the right feet it didn't help.

So these are going straight back!

One of those days..

I actually wrote this on 14th december but never finished it. And just
shy of month its one of those days again
:(

[14/12/2010...Argh! Woe is me :( i had 'one of those days' and feeling
really drained now.

I didnt have a full blown turn and thank god no tears at work but
totally duuuuh brained. On the way home and of course having a really
crap journey. Delays and sardines argh!!

But nevermind tommorow is another day and hopefully it will be
better...it cant really be worse!]

Back to the present day. My day as a whole was ok actually. But the
morning
was all tears on the frigging train journey but by midday i was ok.

One of my biggest fears is that one day i'll need to get off the train
mid way and ill be stranded in the middle of nowhere. And apart from
feeling drained, my brain just goes...somewhere faraway ...and my
power of speech sometimes desserts
me too. How would i ask for help?! Its scary cos ive been in this
position a few times and i know that you have to ask for help. Noone
offers help. Noone asks if you are ok.

We live in hard times.

Schoolgirls

On the train and in a totally non weird/creepy way im observing
(spying/eavesdropping) on 3 school girls. Pretending to listen to
penny pod but nothing on. All i need is sunglasses!

I think they're maybe 13 or 14.

The thing that strikes me most about these girls and the others i see
on my travels is the lack of winter clothing. I'd say that out of
every 15 school girls, only 1 will be wearing what I'd consider a
jacket/coat suitable for winter. The others will just have on school
uniform and a scarf; maybe gloves and the geeky and/or trendy might
sport a hat.

How do they survive the cold?! And all they were on their feet are
pumps. I find it baffling.

However if i cast my mind back i think
I was once one of these Weird Girls. But i had an excuse. A decade or
so ago and coats were ugly/out of my mums price range. i'd rather
freeze then wear a ugly coat (and believe me, everything is ugly when
u try to match it to your brown and yellow uniform...)

However!! Schoolgirls of 2011 do not have this excuse. One word
Primark. Nuff said!! '20-30 gets you something on trend and practical.
These girls
Cant all be anti-primarni. If they are, then shame on them!

New Year Resolutions

2010 overall was a really good year for me. I didnt spending the last
week curled up in a ball crying and praying that the new year would be
better so thats definitely an improvement on a few past years!!

I dont really make new year resolutions - my approach is that every
day is a new day and an opportunity to improve yourself or your
situation or whatever, plus, teamed with lack of get go my main aim is
to just keep on going and try to smile as much as i can.

However, its time to grow up a bit and i think this year i do feel
more grown up and stronger in mental state so...

I think this year my main aim is to sort myself out financially and to
stop
spending on useless stuff and to make the most of what i have. Bulk
buying babywipes is ok and is practical for me but bulk buying flat
pumps is a stupidity and totally unneccesary for me.

My other aim is to sort out my time keeping. Ive gotten much better in
the last few months which is an obvious result frome being in a better
frame of mind but i so still have lapses where i just zone out and
boom i'm late. I might be having a 'freeze moment' but the world is
still spinning so my aim is to keep spinning with it.

My last aim is to improve on my tidiness at home. Im not a rock star
living in a hotel; i dont have my parents or a cleaner and i just need
to just learn to be tidier rather then let everything build up and
have to dedicate a day/week putting my beloved crap away. 'Do as you
go' is my 2011 motto!

I think slash hope these are doable and realistic for me and hey,
theres no harm in trying is there!

What are your new year resolutions? Share below!

Xoxo

Dear Twenty Eleven...

Hello everyone and a very happy new year to you all :)

I hope the first day of the new year has been a good one.

31/12/2010 I went to SF's house to see in the new year. Got home 4amish 1/1/11 and then went to bed about 6am. Woke up at about 4pm! Feeling very disorientated but happy I celebrated the new year, usually I'm sleeping during the count down!

Also, I think 2011 might be a lucky year for me as a 'great' thing happened to me on the way home from the party. K walked me home (no buses for ages) but on the way I offered to get us some chicken and chips. When we got to the chicken shop there were no wings only chicken pieces so K decided he didn't want anything so I ordered 1 piece of chicken and chips for myself, £1.50. It was about 3:30am and it was actually quite busy in the shop and hectic at the counter. I handed over my £1.50 and took a bag off the counter as the guy who was serving me had just put it on the counter. I don't know why but as soon as we got out of the shop I checked inside the box. IT WAS A KEBAB AND CHIPS!!!!!! I wanted to leg it down the road but K told me to chill out. So that is the best thing that has happened to me this year, i hope 2011 brings me many more kebabs lol
