NOTD: Smokey brown

Hey guys!

Just a quick nail of the day; first time using elf's smokey brown. I've had this sitting in my collection for a while and when I picked up the bottle today the formula looked nasty - separated and with a white tinge..but being the brave girl I am I just the bottle a good shake and voila!

This polish is one of the good elf polishes - opaque in 2 coats and nice and smooth. (Actually, due to current nail length I do 2 coats on the entire nail and then a 3rd coat from tip to mid nail.)

The name suits the polish perfectly, it is a smokey brown, reminds me of a galaxy chocolate bar that has been left in the fridge too long.

I don't usually write anything when I post a notd picture but hope that wasn't too wafflelicious lol xoxo

Peek-a-boo I see you!!

 Hi Guys!

Sorry about the layout on this post - I'm actually using my laptop and....I dunno.

A change of season brings about a change of wardrobe but I am broke so I need to be a bit wiser with my wardrobre. I've been really proud of my self control since buying penny palace and even though I have my odd splurges I feel I've done really well considering I use to be a shopping whore aka I'd buy anything and everything.

Nowadays I try to be a tiny bit more sensible and since last winter I decided to only buy things I didn't already have, which might already make sense to you but it's something that my bulk buying self struggles with. Usually if I like something I will buy a million of them in every colour....to be fair my last few posts support this ek but honestly I am trying my best here!

I've decided on a loose one in one out policy. This winter I did not buy any boots or coats. Apart from saving money this also means my bedroom is a bit less messy; apart from loving to shop i also love to hoard and even if I haven't worn something for 10 years I will not throw it away. The hoarding has now become my self inflicted torture but until I learn to chuck stuff then I cannot buy (too many) stuff.

This summer I am trying to do the same thing; no more stupid elbow sleeve jackets until I chuck the one's I have, and no more pumps or sandals because I've already got a million pairs (slight exaggeration, maybe) and a lot of those still have the bloody price tags on!

That being said, there is space in my shoe collection for a plain flat peeptoe. Something that i can wear in the searing heat (not that there's much of that in England atm)  to the office but not have to wear flip flops or gladiators.

H&M seemed to be the answer to my prayers...

These are £9.99 and they are a black satin cross front peep toe. And the important thing for me is that they have a close back, perfect for work in the summer time. The fact that they are not leather or even faux leather (they have a satin finish) might be a bit of a problem cheesy feet wise (hey, wer're all friends here right?!) but for £9.99 that is a decent price for one season of stinky feet :)
Don't judge me!! I also picked up the same pair in snake print. I love these and they were on a deal for £7 which makes me love them even more! Believe it or not these are also in a satin finish which I can't even believe when I've got them on. These really add a pop of...snake....to my more often than not black outfits and make things a bit more chic. The only thing is...they fucking hurt my feet. Like holy bloody jesus I can't even walk 4 steps without developing a john wayne waddle! But I don't care, they are sexy lol
Above and below, same shoe different colour. This was a sad moment in my life. Basically I wanted the nude (they are a nude beige, not white like they look in the picture) but the size 7 (which I usually wear) were too big and it was the only pair in store. The yellow in a size 6 fit perfectly and I love me bright shoes but in fitting with my 'strict' shopping rules I did not need a pair of patent yellow shoes (cos I already got me a few of those). Sad times. I admit I checked online but they didn't have the style. Oh well, saved me a few bucks.

Guys don't make passes at girls who wears glasses

 Hey guys,

Just a quick pic post. Me posing in h&m sunglasses, the green flowers one is my favourite obviously lol

I didn't buy any. I'm finding it hard to find sunglasses that suit me. I think my head is too big? I mean, really wide. But actually looking st these pics the sunglasses are bloody massive!

Also, when I try sunglasses on I find it hard to see myself because it's dark through the lense. Am I being stupid? But seriously, I pop on a pair, look in the mirror and then can't really make out myself so can't be sure if they really do suit me or not.

The stress of life hey? lol

Hope everyone is well, and lets cross out fingers and hope that one day this year we may actually need sunglasses!

xoxo

Things I've been loving in May

Hey Guys, Just wanted to share with you some stuff I've been liking in May. First up is this elf lipstick. It was £1.50 and is in the colour 'posh', it's a red colour and it is amazing. The consistency is smooth and the colour is true to the bullet. Staying power is good and it's not drying at all. Really impressed, especially for the price!
My favourite time of the year? Happy hour at starbucks! Once a year they do a week or so of 1/2 price frappucino's, what I like to call 'frappy hour'. I'm not a starbucks drinker, even when it's full price and snowing I stick to a chcolate cream frappuccino. This year I've been enjoying (too) many the new mocha cookie crumble and also had vanilla for the first time (holy cow my teeth were aching!). I love the name taking thing, in east london with the foreign staff and foreign customers it's fun seeing what they will re-name you. I am Heny.
I seem to be on a bit of a vanilla kick! But I'm loving vanilla candles. I've tried the generic vanilla candles and last time picked up m&m vanilla candles and now I've got vanilla cupcake and betty crocker's creamy vanilla. I've burn them in the bathroom and living room hoping that penny palace looks and smells like the inside of a cupcake - I can't smell anything but any smell must be better than the bins right!?
These are olive that I purchased at a stall set up in Stratford Mall. They were delicious but omg I got ripped off. Bowls and bowls and bowls of olives with no indication of price. So I point at the above and the guys packs up a clear container and demands £11 off me. £11?!?!?!?!?!?! I was too scared to say anything so i paid up and did my best to hold back tears. So angry with myself. I need to stay clear of unmarked goods.
Sorry for this nasty looking pic but don't worry it's only guacamole! I made it myself. This is the second time this month that I've been squishing avocados and I did much better this time round. i miss being at L's house; her salsa and guac are amazing. I always think of her when i see an avocado lol Mine wasn't as nice but still an enjoyable and refreshing snack (eaten with some really nasty tortilla chips).

Haul: The Body Shop

Hey Guys! There was a 40% off discount code for The Body Shop so I thought I'd treat myself and grab some bits. I went to the store inside Stratford Mall (not Westfield's) and the store was very disappointing. The staff were crap, the store was dirty and neglected and a lot of the make up products were totally out of stock.  But anyway, here's the stuff I did get:
I got myself 3 lip butters. I've been meaning to try out lip butter for a while but didn't want to part with my £4 when there's so many other lip products on the market that are cheaper and work well. I chose shea butter, mango and the new one, chocomania. I have no idea how these smell, hopefully they are nice! I've used the shea butter for a day and it's ok but I'm happy I didn't pay the full price. Once I use up these 3 tubs I'll stick to blistex or carmex; much more moisturising in my opinion.
This is the tea tree toner and full rrp was £4.50. I've only used this once but I really like it. It was cooling but it didn't make my face feel like it was burning! A perfect toner for the hot weather (even though it has been horrid all bank holiday weekend). If I was going on holiday somewhere hot I'd definitely pack this to take with me.
This is the vanilla body mist and it was £7 full rrp. Erm, I don't know what made me buy this. The idea is great but £7?! And this is a bit of a risk purchase as I can't smell it and everyone else can. I hope it's a sweet vanilla smell but not too overpowering and not too fake vanilla smelling. If you bump into me, please let me know how I'm smelling!!
Like the body mist, this was just another impulse purchase, a crazy 'i need to make the most of my discount' buy. You know what I;m talking about don't you? This is  a hand cream set, 3 30ml hand creams in hemp, wild rose and almond. I've also wanted a body shop hand cream, they are pretty good and this set works out well. One tube of 30ml hand cream is usually £5 so 3 should be £15 right? But this is £12, and then I got my 40% off so it worked out quite well. I really look forward to carrying this round in my handbag :)
