I cut off my hair!

Hello hello!

Erm, i cut my hair!

I didn't want to start my new job with my ombre - partly because it was orange and partly because it was ratty.

I needed a trim anyway and I just decided that I had to get it chopped off. A lot of people....actually everyone I spoke to.. said to keep my length and suggested I dye over the ombre, but I'm the sort of person that once I've decided something, it's as good as done.
I made an appointment at Evolutions in Stratford, and saw my usual hair stylist Tracy (she is amazing).
I told her that it was time for the ombre to go. I kind of explained to her that I wanted a long bob, no layers, and that I wanted to "look cool". In my head I was thinking a tidy Alexa Chung, Olivia Palermo type thing.

As requested, she cut it off.

Admitedly, I hated it. And it's only the last few days that I've started to like it.
I do not have the right type of hair or face shape for a bob, however long. But my hair feels great and is so easy to maintain. My hair is very frizzy and 'kinky' ;) but since I want that slightly messy look it works in my favour. If I was hoping for a sleek and sexy bob then I failed, but I like my messy look. The key is volume, which I don't naturally have, but I'm slowly learning to make the best out of hairspray and dry shampoo (even on freshly washed hair).

My hair is gone now so I'm not even going to ask about what you think. If I had typed up this post straight after the chop I would have ended this with "hair grows back", but to be honest I am tempted to keep it this length or possibly go even shorter!!!!

Chop chop!

I'll 'cut' to the chase (haha!) I got my hair cut on Wednesday and I am not happy. As we all know, I just hate having my hair cut. I got it trimmed (wash and cut, no blow dry)for £13.50 (I paid £15 with tip) at H2O in Stratford InShops. I always get my hair cut there by the same person every 6-8 weeks. It's a proper granny salon (they don't even do hair treatments) but I love my hair dresser (even though I am always complaining but that's me not her).

Sorry about the picture quality, I guess a non-black dress would have been better but oh well, it's nothing exciting anyway!

Just had a few inches off the back and snip snip snip at the front.

I do have a confession though. Once I got home with my soaking wet hair (it's £28 for a wash, cut and blowdry; I am not paying an extra £15 for a blow dry!!!) I gave myself a bit of an extra snip.

My outgrown fringe (which I tell my hairdresser not to cut because I am growing it out) came to my collar bone once she cut off 2mm and as you can kind of see in the [above pic] after I cut it a bit more it's now chin length.

I always wonder if she notices that my fringe area never gets longer when I see her? My friend says that if I don't trust her to cut my fringe I need to change salons but a) I can't afford to change b) I don't trust anyone so I'd do it this way regardless. No one knows what you want as much as yourself, and when it comes to haircuts it's so difficult to get what you want across.

I don't think my hair is ever going to reach my waist because when it gets near it's time for my haircut. Oh well. Round and round we go!

Sh*t Chop

Hi!

OMG how could I forget! I GOT MY HAIRCUT!!!!

And shock horor I hate it :(

There was no discussion or fanfare because it was just a last minute thing. I had been meaning to get a trim but this Sutton thing pushed my hand and I just thought "I have to do it NOW or else I won't get to a hairdresser til mid 2011 by which time my dry hay hair might spontaneously combust!"

So I booked an appointment for the opticians and hairdressers for Saturday but because I did it Thursday I didn't have time to cancel when I got ill so I had to traipse out like a right minger.

NEVER EVER go get your haircut when you are looking and feeling like shit because you will end up with shit hair. And plus I had no make up on and my glasses on (because basically everytime i go to the opticians they complain about my lil eyes and the amount of eye make up I wear and they asked that I wore no eye make up and no contact lenses). So whilst my mane was being butchered I couldnt even see (which is a saving grace at least I didn't cry til I got home).

And don't get me wrong, I love my hairdresser, she is good and she is nice, but she didn't give me what I wanted. And it's really messed up everything and I am so ARGH! :(

I wanted to go into my new role on Monday feeling nice and swishy and now I won't. I will take a pic and post it asap. I just hate the shape. And she fucking totally screwed up the shape that took me about 5 fucking years to achieve.

I hate paying for a haircut when I have to spend the next decade crying and moaning about it.

ARGH :(
