Just downloaded a blog app. Haven't really figured out the functions yet so please bear with me!

Product rave for 2 items I never thought I needed and I now love <3

Item 1: Clinique's Clarifying Lotion in 2
I got this as part of those many gift sets Clinique do (buy two items and get a bunch of stuff) and its been laying round for ages for two reasons:
1. Wasn't too sure what a clarifying lotion was and 2. Was scared it would break me out/irritate my face. But I've been determined to use stuff or else bin it do I thought I'd give this a try before binning it. So what is it? A toner basically. And what is a toner? I still don't really know! But after I take off my make up at night and cleanse I then give my face a good swipe with the clarifying lotion. You are suppose to just leave it and apply moisturiser but due to stinging and fear I leave it or a few minutes and rinse it off. Baby steps!

My face is left squeaky clean and I used the small bottle for about 3 weeks (was very generous and I've finished the bottle already) and no break outs or rashes. Happy girl.

It's not a necessity in a face routine I feel but I enjoy stuff like this so my plan is to try out some cheaper brands of toner and hopefully find something I like and if I can't then I shall be raiding my mums cupboard to see if she's got any Clinique toner going spare :)

[edit: been using a different toner and what it's told me is...Clinique's really is amazing!! The clearness and smoothness has disappeared and I'm back to dull. Unfortunately my mum does have an unused bottle in her cupboards but it's for oily skin and I'm dry so......]

Item 2: Tesco's sensitive eye make up remover

This was about 87p or something equally ridiculous and it is amazing. I usually use baby oil to remove eye make up (still a major fan) but was
just browsing and ended up purchasing this. It's cheap and gentle and it really works. I pack on a lot of eye make up, and recently been using a primer and one cotton pad per eye soaked with the product removes everything. I am def going to repurchase this (i've finished the bottle already) and would suggest you give it a go once your usual remover runs out! You can't go wrong with 87p!!!

[edit: it's been about 2 months and I've almost finished my 2nd bottle and already have a 3rd bottle lined up - love]

So....how do you remove your eye make up? And any oner recommendations that are purse friendly? Xoxo

Natural Collection (mini) Haul

Hi Guys,

As I mentioned in the last post (matte notd) its 3 for 2 at Boots so I also got some other bits and bobs.

Natural collection is Boots cheapy brand of make up and all items cost less then £2 and they usually have a 3 for £5 offer on, but with the 3 for 2 promo going on I got all 3 products [pictured above] for £3.98!!!!!!!

I got a colour foundation in almond rrp £1.99. I am not expecting much from this coverage wise; not even sure if the colour is a decent match cos the security guard was stalking me (hate it!) but I thought that I would keep this in my make up bag or at my workstation for any unexpected touch ups. All I hope is that it (and the rest) doesn't break me out!

This blusher is the reason why I was browsing the natural collection section - this is one of the products beauty bloggers are raving about so I had to be my usual sheep self and get my hands on one too!!

It is a blusher in shade "pink cloud" and rrp is £1.99. Erm, I'm not too sure what to say apart from it's a pretty pink and for £1.99 its good but staying power isn't great but you get what you paid for.

And lastly, the product I'm most excited about. Basically, for blemishes (aka the craters on my face!) I use Clinique's concealer in 04/medium ('line smooth concealer' rrp £14) which is actually for concealing lines and wrinkles but I find the consistency perfect for truly fugly spots but I'm literally scraping the bottom of the barrel and would be happy to repurchase bar the price so I thought that for £1.99 I can risk trying this out and then if I do end up having to repurchase I haven't really wasted any money.

So I haven't actually put it on properly yet but so far my swatches seem good. [Below] the left swatch is natural collection in medium and right swatch is clinique. As you can see the natural collection concealer is slighty lighter which isnt ideal because clinique's was as perfect a match as you could wish for BUT since winter is fast approaching the slightly lighter natural collection should be fine. Plus once foundation and powder is on and blend blend blend no one will no the difference.

So all in all I am really happy with my £3.98 haul lol

HOW TO: How I get my eye make up to last all day

Firstly, please ignore my towel in the photo's, I just washed my hair :)

My friend at work asked me the other day how I get my eye make up to stay so I thought that I would share what I do with you guys too.

There are loads of different ways to get eye make up to last but so far I found this to be the best. It's just based on the idea about eye shadow primer (e.g. primer potion) or even using concelaer (I do this too); I just did not want to spend money on an additional product.

I got the Clinique quick shadow free (love clinique's free gift promotions!) when I bought other stuff and I didn't have anything else to do with it. It is pretty amazing, but once I am done I will just use a cheapy liquid concealer instead.

This is really easy and my eye make up stays this intense until I take it off at night. And you can amend it to your own eye make up style.

For the most basic version I use two products:

• Clinique's quick eyes cream shadow in 05 (rock violent)
• MUA in shade 20 (matt black)

1. Apply the cream shadow over your lid (I go quite high up due to my lid shape)

2. Pat (do this initially so you don't budge the cream shadow and minimise fall out because there will be looooooads) your chosen eye shadow onto the cream shadow.

3. Then slap on the rest of your powder eyeshadow in your normal way.

That's it!

Once this is done I apply mascara and use a cotton bud to tidy up.

Haul: make up, summer prep, hair stuff

So yesterday after work I decided to pop into Boots (the one in Liverpool Street station - it's great!).

Funnily enough if you read the previous post ('I've been tangoed') I went into Boots because I wanted to buy some fake tan. I've used loads of tanning lotions; everytime they go on special offer i stock up and they all turn me orange. So i went in with the aim to buy a 'posh' tan, a garnier spray tan or something like that, maybe even St Tropez. But even the decent cheap one's were £15 and to be honest the reason why i think my tans are so dodgy as well as orange is due to my slapdash application technique. So with that in mind i skipped the 'posh' tanners. The one i ending up using yesterday was one i brought last year (oops!) for about £1 from wilkinsons.

Anyway, since I was in Boots I thought it would be rude as well as morally wrong not to have a browse. I wish i bloody didn't though. I wish i picked up a £15 spray tan and left cos i ended up spending nearly £60!!!!! I only have 42p in my bank account :(

All my shopping is below:


From left to right we have:

Elnett Hair Spray in 'normal' - £1.99. I've never been a user of hairspray before. I'm not sure what the point of it was but i've been meaning to get one ever since V came to stay at my house. Her hairstyle (aka not an alaborate up-do) didn't seem the sort that require hairspraying but she did so i thought i would give it a go to. Just got a tiny spray can since i have the feeling this will be a short lived fad.

Expert Dry Shampoo - £1.95. I was meaning to pick up Batiste but i saw this and it was £1 less so i thought 'why not?'. The 'Expert' range is basically Boots' take on the most popular products on the market. At the end of the day dry shampoo is talcum powder out of a nozzle so how wrong could it be?

Satincare in sensitive - £2.99. Summer is hair. Need smooth limbs to complement my orange tan lol I was well gutted because i could see signage for a special deal on the Expert Shaving gel but the whole shelf was out of stock!

Bic Soleil Scent - £3.59 for 4. There were other much cheaper disposable razors but i'm really clumsy with a blade so this one is slightly safer for me. And I've used these before and they're pretty good. I'm thinking of buying an epilator but in my mind that's a very expensive fad (the one i want is over £100!).

All about Eyes serum - £22. This is a total impulse buy. I should stop browsing at make up counters because i always get lured into buying some random piece of crap. This is basically a 'de puffing eye massage roll on'. I have no bags under my eyes or dark circles so i can't even use it and review it so I'm going to give it to my mum. She likes eye stuff.

All about eyes - £20. Basically an eye cream. I love this, it's my favourite eye cream. And I've been meaning to buy this cos I've run out. This is my 4th pot i think. I was going to buy 2, one for me and one for mum, but then got hypnotised by all the marketing for the roll on.

And the white with red piping bag pictured is my free gift for buying two clinique products (has to be treatment product s- no make up!:

It is the 'redness solutions' kit. In my opinion this is the ugliest and skankiest free gift ever. The make up bag is ugly ugly ugly and cheap looking and a stupid shape and size. And the products are laughable. I should have bought my eye stuff at a department store so that i could get my hands on better looking freebies. And the fact that they make you buy 2 treatment products is also a joke. Usually it's one skincare product and whatever. RIP OFF BOOTS SHAME ON YOU.

I did spend a lot of money on crap but it is summer and this is my summer prep kit i guess so hopefully it's more of an investment. And apart from the shaving stuff i doubt i'l have to repurchase the other bits for a few months at least.
