Tangle teezer part deux

Hi Guys!

So excited - present numero uno in my magical advent calendar (day 1 is my actual birthday) was....a tangle teezer! A leopard print compact styler to be exact.

I love this because a) tangle teezers are bloody amazing b) leopard print is bloody amazing c) I was eyeing this up but couldn't justify buying myself another tangle teezer. So hallelujah to receive this! (Thank you!)

So quick recap about the tangle teezer - god's gift to bad hair. Get's through tangles (woah!) and doesn't cause as much damage as traditional hair brush things. And it feels sxy on the scalp; I know you know what I'm talking about!

But whaddup with the compact styler bit? Basically this is a tangle teezer that you can carry around in your handbag. Obviously you can carry the traditional tangle teezer around but this is a) a bit smaller (not too small to make a different on usage - still bloody amazing) b) comes with a....not a case...bristle protector? A plastic thing you stick on - a bit like a tupperware lid? Hopefully the pictures are doing a better job at explaining than I am....

Anyway. I love it. It's leopard print and tres practical.

#adventcalendar days 1-8

Hi Guys

Just wanted to show you the joy and wonders that were in my birthday advent calendar. I have had so much fun unwrapping these and it's encouraged me to get out of bed on the cold dark mornings.

I've already showed the magnificent tangle teezer - day 1 was an extra special day as it's my birthday. I've been wanting this tangle teezer because apart from being leopard print, it's a smaller size and is great for the handbag, it comes with a back case to protect the bristles.
Day 2 was chocolate so needless to say I spent the day making sure I ate all my giant buttons :)
Day 3 was nail polish - really loving the maybelline color show line - very impressed.
Day 4 was shower gel! This present made me laugh. At first I was shocked at how V knew this was my favourite shower gel as it's not an obvious choice - but she was practically my house mate for nearly a week so that's that mystery solved.
Day 5 is argan hair oil- I can't wait to give this a go!
Day 6 - this present stressed me out because I couldn't figure out which was day 6 and day 9 - and I realise that V kindly did the line thing but I still couldn't figure it out - thank god for goggle innit!!! Anyways! Day 6 was more chocolate - which became my dinner mmmmmmmmm
Day 7 - love this - Vaseline paint the town red lip tint - limited edition.
Day 8 - celebrations yaaaaaaaay my favouite are the malteaser ones mmmmmmmmmmmmm

My pile of presents is still massive but I'm sad that the month is coming an end. I wish I could have a year version of this....I guess I could wrap up my make up and bathroom stuff and kitchen utensils and every day I could unwrap something....yeah? I could wrap up all my coke cans and eggs lol

29th Birthday :)

Hi Guys!

It was my birthday the other week - I am now 29 years old.

As normal I took the week off work and I had a great time - thanks to my family and friends for making my birthday week a great week :)

Here are a few pics of what my week was like:

I went to Ping Pong with my mum, brother and Cee. Lazy sumday (all you can eat dim sum) is my favourite day.
We had over 40 kegs of dim sum. It was a good day.

I'm learning to use all those photo editing/filtering apps. My fav dish of the day was the black prawn dim sum (top right). Traditionally I love Hau Gau. Prawn allergy? Kiss my arse!

Received a nail art book. I love it cos I love nails but also because it looks really nice displayed. Blogger problems.

Hmmmm This isn't a very appetising looking dish but it's a close up of dry beef ho fun - noodles for a long life.
More birthday food. I love mixed grills.
Day 1 of my birthday advent calendar!!! Thank you V for my leopard print tangle teezer :)

New shoes from NK - thank you :)

I ate much more and got some other lovely stuff but no more pics.

I cannot believe that I will be 30 years old next year. I still feel young.

Tangle Teezer [edited]

Omg. Wow. Holy moly.

That is how I feel about my tangle teezer.

I remember seeing this on the programme Dragon Den's many many years ago. And I have also wanted one and have seen the million raving reviews but I've always been put off by the price.

So what is a tangle teezer? It's a brush basically that makes a bloody easy job of getting through some skanky hair and horsetails (which is where the idea developed from).

The one I have is the bog standard classic style (I chose the hot pink one of course) and rrp is about £10. Let me just put it straight out there: now that I know what this can do I would pay £100 for one...maybe).

It's a hand held kidney shaped plastic thing with bendy plastic bristles (?) in two lengths. Size wise it would be better for me if it was a tiny bit smaller but I have quite small hands so I think for most adults it would be the perfect hand held size. The bendy bristles are great cos they don't damage your hair as...well, for me, as much as the wide tooth I have been using.

When I was younger (a kid) I had waist length hair and my mum would brush it with a denman brush every night. 100 strokes. You know the deal.

Then when I became old enough to be in charge of my own hair I...stopped brushing it. Well through secondary school my hair was in a ponytail everyday so I think I brushed it then but when I started using heat tools the brush went out and the wide tooth comb came into my life.

You know you know, wide tooth comb with wet hair is the best yada yada yada. Which is true to some extent, as there's less breakage than if I was to use the denman in my tangled hair. But my hair was lacking some serious brushing action.

I'm telling you, within the first 3 days (yea days!!!) of using the tangle teezer I had random people in my office coming up to me and telling me how nice my hair looked. My dear friend said I looked less scruffy. And the only difference in my hair routine was the tangle teezer.

My hair looks and feels smoother. The cuticles are flatter. My scalp gets some action. My hair is more manageable. And less breakage (I use it on dry and wet hair).

(To clean it I give it a soak in baby shampoo and then...I get a toothpick and....you can imagine. I don't know if that's the official approach but it works!)

Tangle teezer I love you so much.

[EDITED 15/09/2013]
Ok - so V has been staying with me and yesterday she forgot to bring a hair brush so ended up using my tangle teezer. She reads my blog and she has heard me bang on about how much I love this many many times. But it took her brushing her own hair (which had been in a bun, caught in the rain and slept in) to understand what I was talking about. After 10 seconds she had fallen in love. And she just sent me a picture today of her very own tangel teezer!!! I'm glad I managed to share the love - it's a really great product!
