New year, new shoes! Asos shoe haul

Hi Guys!

I made an asos order and it's arrived. There was a note in my post box saying my parcel had been left under the doormat. Is this guy making fun out of me!?!?! LOL

I ordered two pairs of shoes, and a pair of boots. I ended up selling on the boots to SF, returning the gold tip shoes, and keeping the tassel loafers. No I was not drunk when making my decision!!!

So the tan cutout boots are actually from Newlook but purchased off of the ASOS website (on a side note, I love that Asos Curve sell Newlook's Inspire range) - I love them but I really didn't need them. I was ready to send them back when SF also fell in love with them. £14.50 in the sale. I wish I had kept them, but since they aren't really suitable for work and I don't leave the house on the weekend I had to make the mature choice and say goodbye!!!

Next pair of shoes were ASOS brand and they were the gold tipped loafer. My friends think I am going mad, but I know what I was thinking. They were in the sale for £25 and I would have totally kept them but they were so narrow I nearly lost consciousness when trying them on!!! Goodbye funky shoes!
Finally! I found my 'solemate' lol

Black slighty shiny (not patent, but that proper fake leather, you know what I'm saying?) loafers with a fun tassel. Asos brand and £22 in the sale. They are really comfortable. And again my friends laugh at me but I really wanted a flat shoe that wasn't a pump.

Apologies for the terrible quality picture but here's me dancing around on my furry carpet. These shoes aren't pretty but they make me happy :)

Mini Haul and OOTD

Hello hello!

I had a dress down day at work and picked up a few casual pieces that I thought I'd share with you. It's been so long since I've posted an ootd!!

I wore a new look oversized t shirt (£6) with a elephant head printed in the front paired with very light blue Eden jeggings from Dorothy Perkins (£23). Paired with a black bucket bag and very old primark sandals. Probably not a great shoe choice since the ankle detail clashes with the light blue but I haven't unearthed my summer footwear yet so these were the only option at hand.

As well as the elephant print (close up below)  I also got a bright heart print t pic above - also £6 from new  look). This is quite bright and casual for me but I'm trying to embrace the sunshine.

And that's it. How is your summer wardrobe looking? Mine is...black and wintery. Hate summer dressing.

Face time :)

Hi Guys :)

I wanted to talk face products. Back in the day I was quite picky about skincare and I equated high end products with high end results. To be fair, most of the products I used worked and saved me (dramatic much?). Origins Dr Weil's Mega Mushroom range made my skin much better but most of all, it made me feel better about myself and those green potions were like a security blanket for me.

Then came the time when I felt it was time to switch it up and I tried other brands (Clinique and clarins) and these were ok and then when my skin hadn't freaked out too much from the changes I legged it to the high street!

Moisturiser-wise I went for the simple approach. Vitamin E cream from the health food shop. Went through tons of the stuff and then over time the price went up and up. I started off paying around £3 for a tub and now it's about £8-9. I don't think so sweetie.

So then I headed off to Superdrugs and just picked up a bunch of whatever was in offer. When the stuff is around the £4 mark it's ok to have a few misses!

So anyways I won't go through every single product because I am sure you're already getting bored.

This is the stuff I'm currently using. My skin has changed a lot again recently.
My skin was 'normal' and then when it went crazy it was super dry and sensitive and now? I don't know! I feel weird saying its oily because I've been so use to treating it as super dry. But the truth is I've got some shine going on.

First up we have Elizabeth Arden's 8 hour skin protectant. This is a cult product and for good reason. It's nice and thick. It has a smell some people don't like, but I can't smell it so I'm ok! This is fantastic slapped onto my lips at night but I try not to do that cos it aint cheap. My dad got it for me and was all "£25 for that?!?!". You can get some good deals if you search online. Currently looking for dupes but in the frame of mind that since this works I might as well stick with this for a while. We'll see. Anyway, the main use is on my nose. And if you know me, you know what I'm talking about. That constant nose rubbing and Vaseline applying? It's all about the 8 hour cream!! The side of my nose is where all the skin drama started and if I'm honest, I guess that small part of my face has taken over my life and blinded me to the rest of my face needs. Next!!!

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo. This is another cult product but to be honest I'm not getting along too well with it and I got it cos I am a sheep and I want what everyone else has. This looks great on and applies well but it breaks me out like a mofo. As not to waste this I've been applying it on my forehead to ease the shine and I haven't broken out there. Everyone seems to love this though and it's suppose to make skin better so do some research and you might find it saves your skin. Not a repurchase for me though!

Now this product I'm loving. Superdrug's Optimum super antioxidant grape ultra protecting eye cream. Bloody hell, let's just say eye cream yeah? 15ml rrp £9.99 but I got it for £4.99 and will be stocking up. This is everything you want a decent eye cream to be. Light but moisturising. It sinks in and it doesn't sting like a bitch. I use this day and night. Previously I'd been using another Superdrug product, vitamin e eye cream for about £3. Pile of shit. I didn't finish it even when I didn't have a replacement. It was so bad that using nothing was better than using that! But anyway, so I though that this grape stuff might be better and I was right and me and my eye area are happy :)

Last up we have the Nivea cream. I was going to go for the old school navy blue tin stuff but this was on offer for £1.45 so I had to try it! Do I love it? No, but it's ok. It does what it says but it's nothing special. If it was still £1.45 I'd definitely repurchase but since it's back to normal rrp I shall be flirting around with some other cheapy products. Look forward to my Superdrug trip tomorrow :)

What do you use? Anything to recommend me? Anything to avoid like the plague?

(Apologies for any
errors, too lazy to proof read!)

Peek-a-boo I see you!!

 Hi Guys!

Sorry about the layout on this post - I'm actually using my laptop and....I dunno.

A change of season brings about a change of wardrobe but I am broke so I need to be a bit wiser with my wardrobre. I've been really proud of my self control since buying penny palace and even though I have my odd splurges I feel I've done really well considering I use to be a shopping whore aka I'd buy anything and everything.

Nowadays I try to be a tiny bit more sensible and since last winter I decided to only buy things I didn't already have, which might already make sense to you but it's something that my bulk buying self struggles with. Usually if I like something I will buy a million of them in every colour....to be fair my last few posts support this ek but honestly I am trying my best here!

I've decided on a loose one in one out policy. This winter I did not buy any boots or coats. Apart from saving money this also means my bedroom is a bit less messy; apart from loving to shop i also love to hoard and even if I haven't worn something for 10 years I will not throw it away. The hoarding has now become my self inflicted torture but until I learn to chuck stuff then I cannot buy (too many) stuff.

This summer I am trying to do the same thing; no more stupid elbow sleeve jackets until I chuck the one's I have, and no more pumps or sandals because I've already got a million pairs (slight exaggeration, maybe) and a lot of those still have the bloody price tags on!

That being said, there is space in my shoe collection for a plain flat peeptoe. Something that i can wear in the searing heat (not that there's much of that in England atm)  to the office but not have to wear flip flops or gladiators.

H&M seemed to be the answer to my prayers...

These are £9.99 and they are a black satin cross front peep toe. And the important thing for me is that they have a close back, perfect for work in the summer time. The fact that they are not leather or even faux leather (they have a satin finish) might be a bit of a problem cheesy feet wise (hey, wer're all friends here right?!) but for £9.99 that is a decent price for one season of stinky feet :)
Don't judge me!! I also picked up the same pair in snake print. I love these and they were on a deal for £7 which makes me love them even more! Believe it or not these are also in a satin finish which I can't even believe when I've got them on. These really add a pop of...snake....to my more often than not black outfits and make things a bit more chic. The only thing is...they fucking hurt my feet. Like holy bloody jesus I can't even walk 4 steps without developing a john wayne waddle! But I don't care, they are sexy lol
Above and below, same shoe different colour. This was a sad moment in my life. Basically I wanted the nude (they are a nude beige, not white like they look in the picture) but the size 7 (which I usually wear) were too big and it was the only pair in store. The yellow in a size 6 fit perfectly and I love me bright shoes but in fitting with my 'strict' shopping rules I did not need a pair of patent yellow shoes (cos I already got me a few of those). Sad times. I admit I checked online but they didn't have the style. Oh well, saved me a few bucks.

Westfields - Stratford City

Hello Everyone,

WOO HOO Westfield Stratford City is OPEN for BUSINESS!!!!!!! :)

Ok, admittedly, I wasn't that excited (quite excited, but not as much as people were assuming considering my love for shopping).

It opened Tuesday 13th September. I made a vow to myself that I would not go for one month.

And at about 5.25pm 13/09/11 I found myself in Westfield LOL

I apologise for the lack of photo's but it was so packed I couldn't take any pictures. It was crazy. I could feel the person behind me blinking it was that packed!!

The intention of me and my work friend was to just 'pop into primark' cos we are chavs innit but the mall was so busy it was impossible to pop into anywhere. You just had to follow the crowds. I must say I was proud of myself for not freaking out; I just kept my held down and kept moving, I didn't let myself think about how enclosed I was.

We did go into Primark (it's all right, Lakeside still rules IMO) and we did fill up our baskets but we ended up ditching them (sad face) because we realised that we wouldn't be able to move around the mall with bags.

Once we got to the Primark exit we couldn't just go out (literally out of Westfields) so crowd control meant we had to go aaaaaalllllllll the way around the mall (yeah yeah we did visit other shops just to have a look-see, it would have been rude otherwise!)

We ended up in Waitrose because I needed a sugar fix and yay I got a opening day freebie!!!! Pictured below mid munch - a fruit salad :)

So I went to Westfield on the opening day and got a freebie. I feel on top of the world :)

(So haulage wise I got a bottle of coke, sandwich, pain au chocolat and my freebie fruit salad).

********

So have any of you guys been?

What did you think? Glad it's here or do you think it's a literal waste of space?

Spring products

Three days of sun means a post on spring products is due!

The first product I've been meaning to blog about for a while now. Superdrugs' make up brand 'MUA' (Make up academy) - pressed powder. I only grabbed it in desperation because I'd hit pan on my clarins and didn't have time to go to a make up counter. As you can see from the pictures I have already hit pan - that's down to two things:

1) I use it to set my face everyday

2) It's kinda powdery (not on the face but the texture of the powder...hhhmmm powdery powder) so when you put your make up brush it loosens quite quickly. This might seem like a bad thing but this product was £1!!!!!!!!

It hasn't caused me to break out and despite being powdery it isn't cakey on the face. I've read review which says it smells like baby talc but a) I can't smell and b) talc isn't the worst smell, at least it doesn't smell like sardines right?

I am ready to repurchase this item. This one is Shade 3 - I probably needed a lighter shade but now that the sun is out Shade 3 is probably right for me now. Hey, at £1 I might splash out on two!! lol

Seriously though, this is the 3rd MUA product I've tried (this, 2 eyeshadows and a clear mascara that I use on my eyebrows - all £1) and I think they are amazing value and quality. I'd pay more and that is high praise indeed.

Spring time perfumes!! Even though I can't usually smell myself I put on perfume for other people. Work colleagues, people squashing me on the bus etc

My fav 'springy' scents at the moment are: [L] Katie Price's Stunning, which actually I haven't had a 'smell day' whilst wearing so no idea what this smells nice but I know it's light rather than musky; and [R]Hugo Boss' Orange which is fruity and fresh. I'm also using a lot of men's perfumes. I might do a little collection post.

Two hair products which I am using more or less everyday:

[black spray bottle] Tresemme's heat protectant. I usually use the Loreal Studio Hot Straight (which is great), but this had a few quid off and I fancied a change. So anyway, I am not a fan of Tresemme products (my mum uses the shampoo and condition and it doesnt work for me) but I really like this product. It has a nice fruity smell and the nozzle gives a nice light even spray and also covers a wide space which is good when you have longer hair because you don't want to overload your hair with product nor leave any of it unprotected. The only thing with this product I don't really like is the spray thing - I find it awkward to use the finger trigger (thats the best way I can describe it!) - which is funny because that's probably way it sprays out the product so well. I say, 4 out of 5 stars.

[white and gold spray] This is Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair - shine tonic. I've actually had this for about 2 years and never really used it. You're suppose to spray it onto your finished style to give a light shine without greasiness (kinda like hairspray without the hold!!!!) and I didn't use it because I was worried I would be tooo shiny (don't ask why I bothered buying it in the first place) but recently I have been using this a few times a week, it has been a very useful product in light of my hair lenting; it made the frizz nice and shiny lol. You can also use this product on towel dried hair as a sort of leave in conditioner detangler but again, you have to be careful of not being too shiny/greasy.

Don't you love just how colourful and bright these products are? Just having them on my dresser makes the world a bit more sunnier:)

Two lip and two hair products -

[clockwise from top left]

[carmex] This is a winner throughout the seasons. Soothes dry chapped winter lips, and adds a nice shine in the spring.

[cocoa butter vaseline lip therapy] I bought this just to try out and at first it was sitting in my drawer but now I really like it. I just apply it in the morning and at night, just a twist on a well loved product.

[twisted sista/urban therapy] I picked this up in poundland (for £1 duh!).What a gem!! A really thick serum that tames the frizz on straight and curly hair. I'd def recommend using this very very sparingly, a little goes a long way. You can use this on wet or dry hair. I've only used it to finish my style but its nice and gummy which I like. I pump a tiny tiny tiny drop into my palm and rub my hands together and then quickly and light swipe my hands over my hair.

[Batiste tropical] I've raved about this dry shampoo before but since it's spring now I'm using the tropical version which is suppose to have an exotic smell and does the same job as all the other versions.

all this Spring talk, isn't it Summer yet!?

What products do you use to make you feel spring-like?

Spring 2011 Wishlist / Spring Resolution

I think it can be agreed that I have been well behaved shopping-wise lately. But now that the sun is shining I am feeling the shopping itch and it needs to be scratched!!!

So I've already mentioned some stuff I wanted:

Tiffany gold ring and chain
Mulberry Mini Daria Messenger for ipenny
Erm, a rolex

Those things are still much wanted and here's adding to the list:

I've come to realise that a Rolex is a bit out of my price range:

So there's a Michael Kors that I've been wanting since I subbed to Laura / Lollipop26. I don't have a particular style I want yet. Big, gold and chunky. This one is about £180:

For a cheaper version, and feeding my love for a more harder girly look there's this:

Asos £25!!!!

The problem with both is....can't wear them. Band is not 18k gold and up. Back is stainless steel and worse. I need to keep saving for my Rolex :( But one day, I promise myself, I will own a watch and wear it and be happy and not break out!

This next item is a bit random, but I saw Michelle Phan/Rice Bunny rave about it and I want one too. After I fell off the lenting band wagon I've been wearing my hair in a deeeep side parting and that equals fluffiness and a million fly aways so....

Osis Stick Up. Its like a giant glue stick to tame baby hairs, broken hairs and fuzz. YAY! I've been doing my online research and its def under £10...£6 would be a good price. But I'm trying for under £5 cos you know i am cheap like that ;) And for those of you thinking "er, hairspray?!" i have tried hair spray. lightly spritzing from the top. And also combing it through. Doesn't work. I am a bit worried that Stick up might be a bit toooo heavy/greasy but I am a brave woman :)

I think that's about it actually. I just really really want a watch. If this craving was winter I could buy anything and wear it over my cardigan sleeve but it is spring so no cardigan sleeves for me.

I am going to try very hard not to buy any footwear or bags. I'm currently selling some shoes on ebay (as well as some clothing items). I need to get my shoes out in a way that they are visible and so that I wear them. Otherwise i am stuck in a vicious cycle of buy buy buy store store store and never ever wear. Which means I end up with a million shoes stuck sittting at the bottom of my wardrobe. And so that is my spring resolution - make the most of what i have!

Valentines Wishlist 2011

Valentine's Day is just around the corner. In case I find a guy by the 14th, I will direct him to this post ;)

Hopefully he will be a generous millionaire/professional thief and be able to get me everything on my wishlist.

But in the wise words of Destiny's Child, I am an independent women, so if I don't get these for Valentine's then my aim is to get some/all by the end of the year. No harm in dreaming!

Let's get started! Credit cards at the ready....and GO!

Continuing from my random and sudden perfume obsession I really want this:

The Fragrance collection from Next, £12 for four 12ml bottles of: Just Pink, Cashmere, Diamonds and Define. I've had Just Pink and Define before and liked them, smelt Cashmere and it's cool, and the one I really want is Diamonds. Why? Because it's another Miss Dior Cherie dupe!! Y'all know how obsessive I get!!! The reason why i didn't pick a bottle of Diamonds as my 'want' is because I thought I'd go for a variety. Quantity over quality.

Next on my list is this:
It's a gold ring from Tiffany's, £250. I like it because it's just plain and simple but the hammered gold gives it a bit of a twist.

Otherwise, I love this one (maybe even more) but it's £405 *gulp*

Last time I wore rings worth more then £10 was when I was in primary school and it fell in the toilet and I flushed them down the bog. My mum never fails to remind me of this. I think it's silly to let a little girl wear a ring to school. Just saying.

Ok, this might be pushing my millionaire/professional theif valentine's generousity but I want a Rolex! Now that I know I can 'do' gold I want want want this!!! And the silver is stainless steel so that ok too....supposedly. Not sure how much this watch is but doesn't matter since it's a pipe dream!
Next up is the coolest thing ever!

Scrabble cushions! You can get any letters and make up any words. Price wise....the 'love' set is between £47-72 depending on where you get it from.

And carrying over from last year, I also want an iphone (hopefully in march when I upgrade), and a louis vuitton card holder £100.

I'm not asking for too much am I? :)
