Product review - Botanics' cleansing cream and toner

Last month I was at my mum's house for a few days and instead of taking all my skincare products with me I decided that I would use whatever she had. Spoiler alert - I regret not taking my products with me.

I didn't take into account that she would have taken her favourite products away with her (the family were on holiday and I was technically squatting, but I see it as housesitting without permission) and so I was left with randoms on the beauty shelf.

Botanics:

The Botanics range is exclusive to Boots and I've always been meaning to try out thir products, as they are marketed as "natural and organic" and come at an affordable price point. Today I'll be discussing the "all brightening" gentle cleansing cream and the cleansing toner. Both were £3.99 each (and on offer for £1.99 each omg!!!)

There are products for different skin types: normal, combo, dry, senstive, oily, and aging.

First off, I must say, I really like the packaging. I just really like how clean and simple the bottles are. Some beauty products come in fancy packaging that is not always practical. My hands are wet, I've got soap suds in my eyes, I ain't got no time for some rocket science lid contraption. Give a girl a break!

Cleanser:

The cleanser was....blah. Ironically, nothing to write home about. Personally, I would not be able to use this on a daily basis, it would take years to remove my make up. To be fair, my make up does need industrial strength stuff to budge and I never have hope that this type of cream cleanser would do me any favours.

But - it was gentle, my sensitive skin did not feel like it was burning, and it did not sting my eyes. It was really refreshing on my skin and I can imagine for someone would wore no/minimum make up that this would do a decent job.

Toner:

Toners are weird.

I guess toners are one of those products that you need to use for a while to see its outcomes. This toner was nice and refreshing and like the cleansing cream, there was no burning sensation. Was that the most useless sentence I've ever written? Probably not, but it makes the top 100 I'm sure!

So?

I won't be purchasing the cleansing cream and toner for myself, but I am interested to try out other products in the Botanics range.

Have you tried anything from Botanics before? Anything that you think I must try?

I'm really interested in the "super balm", for elbows, lips, hands, everwhere else. I love a multi purpose product.
Of course I will let you know if I give it a go :)

Mini drugstore haul + Loreal Infallible 24h foundation review

Picked up some stuff at Boots and Superdrug the other day.

First up is the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush - if you tink you've seen this here before you are right. This is my second brush. I loved it so much that I had to get another one. I use this every day to apply my foundation. I love how dense it is and its so easy to use. It washes beautifully. I keep one on my vanity and one in my handbag. (rrp £9.99 but I got mine as part of Boots 3 for 2 promo).

At the moment I'm using Loreal's True Match and since it hasn't broke me out I thought I'd give another Loreal foundation a go.

In all honesty I meant to pick up Infallible 16h but picked up Infallible 24h instead but its all god in the hood. I got mine in shade 140, Golden Beige.

RRP around £9.99 but again, mine was part of the 3 for 2 promo (third and free item is not shown here...picked up Falsies mascara, review to come once I use it!)

Back to the foundation:

It's slighty thicker than True Match and I much prefer this consistency. It's a medium to full coverage I say and it blends really well. It looks great on my skin when 'i first put it on: not cakey, not too matte but not shiny.

However, considering its called Infallible 24h I'm not too impressed with its staying power. The positive point is that it fades well and isn't patchy, but the negative point is that it wears off toooooo quickly. The (slightly) warmer weather probably isn't helping but  this stuff just vanishes off my face I feel.

I like this and don't regret giving it a go but definitely won't be repurchasing this. If you are less sweaty/oily maybe this will work for you?

On that note, would anyone recommend I still try Infallbile 16h? 

Random purchase but it was on clearance for £1.75 at Superdrugs. If you can still get your hands on this I would definitely recommend this night cream.

I have used Superdrug's Optimum line before and its so so but this Line Decrease night cream is like heaven. So smooth on the skin and leaves my face feeling plump and hydrated when I wake up.

Due to the clearance price I assume they are discontinuing this product and I can't imagine why. I wish I had picked up more when I had the chance!

Review: No7 Cleansing Brush

As I showed in my Christmas 2014 haul my mum got me (and my brother hahaha) a cleansing brush from No7. Basically a rip off clarisonic; an electric toothbrush for the face!

When the Clarisonic was first getting hyped on youtube and on beauty blogs I was interested - I do love to manually exfoiliate but then I didn't think it would be too wise to test it out on my face, especially for a price point of way more than £100. 

But now I own this nifty little thing so I thought they'd be no harm in giving it a go. I don't know the price but considering mummy got two and also two packs of extra brushheads I am assuming No7 (Boots) gave her a good deal. 

In the box was.....exactly what you see, plus an instruction manual (press start and move it around your face!), plus 2 batteries. 

The thing I searched out for on the instruction manual was the whole water issue. I didn't want to risk electrocuting myself! But this is safe to use, even in the shower, but it says "don't submerge in water". I use mine at the sink anyway so unless I drop it in the toilet, we're a-ok here.

So....I remove makeup and cleanse my face as usual, and use this once a week for a deep cleanse. Wet the face, blob on my face wash and then press the 'start' button and gently (don't press down - I assume your face is softer than your teeth!!!) move it around your face.

I like that this is really easy to use and considering how sensitive my skin is the brushes are the right combination of soft and firm. It's been about a month and I have no complaints. I love washing my face and am tempted to use it all the time but even though I've had no bad results I don't want to tempt the skin Gods!

Boot haul: Melanie Jane ankle boots

Hi Guys,

Still on a hunt for some good footwear. Apologies for the really dodgy pictures but I wanted to share with you my new black ankle boots, the Melanie Jane's from Clarks.

Let me just get this out of the way - Clarks is not my favourite shop ok! I just happen to live and work really close to one, and their customer service and website is on point! You can order online to collect in store - and you don't have to pay until you pick them up!!! So what I did was order into the store two pairs of the same boots and paid £0.00 and then went into the store, tried on both and paid for the one. It's great cos usually I end up paying loads online ordering different sizes and even though you end up getting your refund it's still a bit crap having the money leave your account. Ok - that wasn't suppose to be a long Clark' praise - I was trying to say that I haven't turned into a granny!

These were in the sale and I paid £39.99, I think full price was £59.99?
I admit that I am not keen on how they look on me; I'm convinved that they look like boots, but I am getting desperate and these have a good heel height and a good study rubber sole (jesus I am a granny!!!)

They also have a little notch in the front which is a detail I really like. Doesn't stop them looking like boats or my ankles looking like pork chops but still, I think these are a keeper? TBH I've been into my local Clarks so much I'm embarassed to go in to return them. The dude knows my name.

 

Rave Review - Hydraluron

I LOVE HYDRALURON!!!

I have so much love to give to this product that I am feeling slightly overwhelmed. I want you to understand how great this product is and am worried I won't do it justice.

*deep breath*

Ok, this is Hydraluron by Indeed Labs and is available exclusively at Boots. It rrps for £24.99 for 30ml. (I got mine while it was on a promo for £16).

Let's just deal with this now - it is pricey for 30ml but knowing what I know, I wold pay even more for it. In fact, after 3 days of using it, I got myself 2 more tubes of the stuff. If that doesn't tell you all you need to know then I don't know how else I can show my love. Putting my money where my mouth is!!!

It's a moisture booster. On all the reviews I read prior to parting with my money had basically copied and pasted the whole official spiel and it's like who cares! I am not a scientist, I am not trying to make it myself at home, WTF is it supposed to do and does it work!?

What does it do? MAGIC! On my face I have some broken skin and cracks from when I had an allergic reaction that literally tore my face a part. Thank god it is managable nowadays, no weeping or bleeding (jeez, sorry) but it is bone dry. I am constantly rubbing vaseline and 8 hour cream on it. I just thought it was dead skin. I put Hydraluron on my nose/mouth area and BAM! after 3 days I notice that my skin is....getting better. I don't want to say it's healing, but it hurts less, looks less angry/raw and it's not as discoloured. So that's basically why I love this and stocked up. It boosted life into my skin! (And it's silicone free which is great for me.)

It's a colourless watery gel type texture (serum!) and when you apply it on your face (I also use it on my whole face a few times a week - I'd use it everyday but it is pricey lol) it feels slightly tacky for about 2 seconds. You then put on your normal face cream (this is important, Hydraluron is not a moisturiser) and that is when you feel the magic happening.

Like I said before, I am not a scientist, and there are loads of great reviews/information out there if you are interested, but I think (very very very very) basically that hyaluronic acid can hold 1000 times its own weight in water. It is already in our bodies/skin? but hey extra help is always a good things. So anyway, you put it on your face and your other stuff and it just holds moisture. It's like a supercharger. Gummy bear juice for your face (if you get that reference then you are old enough to be using this regardless of the state of your skin!).

A little of this goes a long way. If you have dry or dehydrated skin you need this in your life. Apply it to your whole face, problem areas, whatever. Even if you buy this just to have for days when you're having a not so great skin day, or you've been partying too hard - it is worth it.

Rimmel Wake me up foundation review

Hi Guys!

My mum has become a youtube addict. Addicted to beauty gurus to be exact. I have no idea where this has come from - prior to this she only wore make up at my graduation. As a result of her new found hobby she has purchased a few make up bits and pieces but inevitably she gets bored of them (since she doesn't wear make up duh!!!) and I get the hand me downs - for which I am really grateful.

Ok that was a long spiel. Basically, my mum gave me this foundation - Rimmel's Wake Me Up (shade 201 classic beige). I won't talk about shade too much as obviously this was for my mum's skin tone but actually it's not too off from me, maybe one shade too light, but nothing a lot of bronzer and shizzle won't fix!

Ok - so what do I think of the foundation?

I don't like it for one main reason - it broke me out really bad within a week - left me with horrid red and painful (ooooowwwwwww) bumps all over my face. So yeah, that's a bit crap.

Aside from that, it was an ok foundation for the price point. Buildable to a good medium coverage, lasts the working day with touch ups, not a cakey finish. I didn't like the shimmer shimmer but I think for other people that's part of the selling point.

If this hadn't broke me out I wouldn't have repuchased anyway but I would have happily finished off the bottle. (And since we're on the subject - I love the bottle, pump and lid.)

Have any of you tried this? Anyone have a bad reaction?

Haul: Push down pump nail polish remover

Hi guys!

Just wanted to do a quick post to share this item with you - sorry for the short and catchy blog title but I don't know what this is official call. From now on it's 'it' or 'the thing'.

So what is this thing?! It's a small plastic bottle that you can put liquid in. Does not have to be used for nail polish remover but that's what I purchased it for - 99p from eBay.

Before I go on - very disappointed as my thing does not work. The nail polish remover does not come out when I press a cotton pad down. But I thought I'd share this item with you anyway cos it is a good idea. 

So like I said, it's a small plastic bottle; it's got a screw on lid with a flip cap.

And here's a close up of the 'special' bit - so you're suppose to press a cotton pad down and the liquid comes straight up. With my thing, nothing comes out when I press down :( I was so excited to get this. Oh well. I can still unscrew the lid and use the bottle in the traditional way.

I poured a bottle of Cutex into the bottle but I also purchased the above nail polish remover from Boots and I have to tell you, this is amazing! A great pice and removes polish with barely any rubbing. The only thing some people might not like is that this does leave an oily residue on your nails, but I wash my hands before applying my new colour anyway so it doesn't bother me. If you are in the market for a cheap nail polish remover I would recommend this one.

Real Techniques: blush brush and expert face brush

Quite obvious from the title and picture but I finally got myself a couple f real technique make up brushes!

Boots had a buy one get one half price deal going on so I grabbed these two. I wanted the core collection set but I think I'll put that on my birthday/xmas wish list :)

I've been having problems with my foundation (revlon colorstay) - I'm finding it so dry and hard to apply, so I thought I'd give the expert face brush a try since everyone raves about it so much. How is it? It's ok. I think it's amazing for the price but if I won the lottery, I would definitely give other brushes a go - this is not my holy grail. I must say that I love the actual brush style/shape(?) - I've used either a traditional foundation brush and stippling brush to apply liquid foundation (on a day to day basis I prefer my fingers) but I do like this rounded/flat (can it be both?) brush.

Ok - so blush brush - to be honest I kinda picked this cos I wanted something of a similar price to make the most of the deal. I've used it everyday since I got it probbaly more out of the novelty of having something new and because by coincidence my mum gave me a blush palette (post to follow).

I gotta say this though - best thing about these brushes - drying time!!! I've had these 6 days and I've washed these 3 times because it's so easy and they dry so so so quick!!! And no shedding. Very impressive.

Girl gone wild (ombre) again!

Hello hello.....so we meet again.

A total impulse move but I decided on Thursday that I wanted my ombre to be lighter. I had V sleeping over aka live in hairdresser.

There was a 2 for £10 deal in Boots on Jerome Russell products (so I saved about 10p!) soI picked up the blonding kit in medium lift [above picture] and a colour toner [picutred somewhere below]. Sorry about the box - V is an animal :) She did tell me to google image a nice box but I thought that I would keep it real. 

So we brushed out my hair and V mixed up the blonding kit and put it on my hair where it was already ombred, she then wrapped it in foil and she pinned it up to keep it out of the way. Not sure if I mentioned it last time but keeping it wrapped keeps things hot, and heat helps the chemicals to really do the business.

No pictures cos it gets a bit icky but after 30 mins V removed the foil and I rinsed my hair using the conditioning shampoo supplied in the box. We could already tell at this point that my hair was Barbie blonde. V's reaction was "holy f**k!!!".

I towel dried and brushed my hair again and then V plopped the colour toner on my blonde hair. 

V wrapped my hair in clingfilm and I blow dried the cling filmed bit for 5 minutes and then left it for....I can't remember....maybe 20-30 mins? I then got back into the shower and washed my hair using my normal shampoo and conditioner. The best news at this point is that my hair wasn't feeling all melted and dead and weird. 

So erm....yeah.....this is my hair. The blonding kit worked!!! This is blow dried not straightened; not sure if my hair csn take 230 degrees heat at the moment.  (Sorry abut my nightie!! lol)

Friday morning I was still blonde and I was still scared to straighten it so I did a fishtail braid. I had people pulling at it thinking it was a clip in plait. I had people ask if I had extensions. And I had a lot of looks at horror.

I honestly don't know how I feel about my hair as a whole. I'm really happy with the colour just for the fact that I never thought I could be this blond. I'm really impressed with the products used. As a whole? It's not ombre at its best is it? Oh well. It's only hair!

Dorothy Perkins ankle boots

I'M SO HAPPY!!!

I've been wanting to jump on the cut out boot trend for a while now but frankly couldn't afford what I'd seen. Then I saw these ankle boots in DP for £35! They obviously look quite cheap but I love them!!! And...with a few online discount codes I got them for £25!!!!!!!!!

The heel height is perfect for me - comfortable enough to walk to and from work but high enough to stop me being a total dude. The cut out if showy enough but not impractical - my feet didn't get wet in the rain. I love the wrap around strap and the gold hardwear. I'm sure that you will see this in many OOTD's soon! The only thing I don't like is personal to me but I'll tell you anyway - these are a size 7 and a tiny bit big for more, so there is a lot of stomping going on. But I even enjoy stomping, reminds me that I have my new booties on :)

Are you starting to get ready for autumn yet? I can't wait!

Review: Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr cream gel eyeshadow [updated 15/09/2013]

Firstly, sorry for the lopsided picture - after all these years I still haven't figured out how to rotate  photos on blogger!

Anyway, I'm here today with a quick review of the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr in the shade 'timeless black'.

Simply put - I love this. I cannot believe I did not get this sooner. For a girl who loves a heavy black eye this is a truly marvellous product. I haven't had this in my life/make up bag for long but I already know that we are soul mates!

So....it is a creamy gel eyeshadow as the name suggests. And shade-wise timeless black is a nice true black; none of that charcoal shizzle. The staying power is great. I can't vouch for 24 hours but I can say that it does stay put for about 16 hours.

The big left swatch is about 2 brush swipes worth of product. You can see that the colour payoff is  impressive and  nice and opaque. The small swatch on the right is one brush swipe worth of product and you can see that even that is some good stuff right there.

I can imagine this would make a great eyeliner but I use this in two other ways. I was initially using it as a base with my mua eyeshadow in shade 20(matte black); I'd swipes color tattoo all over my lid and whilst still 'wet' I'd pat on my powder eyeshadow. This combo would probably last for 3 days and that's not even a lie.

Since the initial combo was working so well for the past week I tried using the color tattoo on it's own and was still very impressed. I did have one problem with this - one day after work I wanted to touch up my eyes so I pulled out my black kohl eyeliner and .....crack! My bloody color tattoo cracked/crumbled/flaked straight off my eye. I was then left with a patch of skin on my eyelid. So.....I don't care - I've learnt my lesson. Packed it on good in the morning and don't be tempted to draw over it and you'll be fine.

Even if this was twice the price now that I know what it can do I'd still repurchase it. And that's a lot coming from me!!!

Hi Guys, in this post I mentioned a problem with this product crumbling/flaking off and wanted to show this. (Forgive the unfinished makeup). Also, it doesn't happen to often but it does sometimes flake off even before I've finished doing my make up in the morning. I had obviously applied the product all over my lids and then for whatever reason the below happened. So that's a bit crap. But I still love it - you can see how black and opaque the bits that stayed on are!

Mascara hi hi hi

I am having a mascara dilemma. I can't find one that I love. I recently went through a few periods of mucky eyes (infections and styes) so I threw out all my mascaras and picked up the 4 above.

I got: Benefit's They're Real (sample sized, magazine freebie); Bourjois's Volume Clubbing Waterproof; Collection's Big Fake and 2True's Wow waterproof.

To me a good mascara needs to be:

Waterproof - as a monolidder there's a lot of  transferring and smudging going on. It's only in the last couple of years that I discovered the joy of waterproof mascara. I can't believe I wasted nearly a decade of my life wearing non waterproof mascara.

Affordable - Prior to Penny Palace I used Clinique, Dior, YSL, Benefit and Lancome and they were good but a) they weren't that amazing and b) I can't afford that upkeep

Volume - Obviously if I could have length and volume I would - but if I have to choose, I definitely choose volume. 

I like to alternate mascara's or layer them, which is why I'm using so many at once.

 The thing I can't figure out is what brush (or do I mean wand?) is best for me. There's so many brush types to choose from nowadays and they often don't show you a sample brush in Superdrugs or Boots and the pictures are useless.

But anyway, let me stop waffling and tell you how I've gotten on with my new mascaras!

Benefit - They're Real: I got this blogger favourite free with a magazine. I've wanted to try it out but I think this retails for £18-19 and I couldn't justify this. It's not waterproof but it's not too smudgy. I actually really like this - it makes my lashes look much thicker, but it's not so life changing (can a mascara ever be life changing?) that I would pay full price. 

Bourjois - Volume Clubbing Waterproof: The tube says that this mascara has been tested at a foam party. I've never tried a Bourjois mascara before and I must say, I'm really impressed with this one. When I'm wearing this I don't need to constantly check for panda eyes. I'm tempted to repurchase as it's probably the most suitable I've recently tried but I think I will attempt to try more brands and styles before I start bulk buying lol

Collection (formally Collection 2000) -  Big Fake: I'm not sure what to say about this. I picked it up in Poundland (for £1 duh!!!). It's not waterproof and the brush is bigger than my eye so it's no shock that this didn't work great for me. However, I like layering different mascara so sometimes when I've finished with my main mascara I'll give them an extra swipe with this. 

 2True - Wow in waterproof: You might not be aware of this brand - 2True is available in Superdrug and is super affordable. They started off with their USP being 3 items for £5 (I guess the equivalent of Boot's Natural Collection range?) but they also have 'pro' items that aren't included. This mascara is part of the pro range (rrp £3.00) and I must say, I really like it. First I was worried that the brush would be toooo small but the brush and mascara give my lashes good volume and I'm not sure how waterproof it is but it's good enough to keep me smudge free-ish during the 9-5 day.

Mini Boots Haul

I had a quick dash through Boots the other day and here is my little haul.

Sally Hansen - I picked up Insta Dri (rrp £5.99) and Double Duty (rrp £5.29). I've made a conscious decision to be a bit kinder to my nails and also to my nail polish. I've always been a paint and go kind of girl and view top and base coats as a waste of time and money. But I figured that since my nails are my favourite asset I should shell out a few pound on them. I did have my eye on the infamous Seche Vitte but then Sally Hansen was buy one get one half price at Boots  (so I got both for £7.61)and they had decent enough reviews.. Really looking forward to doing my nails on Sunday.

Nivea Pure and Natural Day Cream - I've just realised that the Nivea Pure range is silicone free and am so excited to try this out. This was rrp 5.35 but I got it on promotion for £3.56, only to find out that in Wilkinsons it's £2.49 full price!! If this is good I know where I'll be stocking up from! I'm currently using Nivea Soft (white squeezy tube) and I've not had any problems so hopefully the Pure will be even better.

Garnier 2 in 1 make up and eye remover - I love this. I think this is my 4th or 5th bottle!!! It's amazing.

Boots are having a buy one get one half price on their make up so I picked up Bourjois volume clubbing mascara (rrp £7.99) and Maybelline 24 hour colour tattoo in timeless black (rrp £4.99) - reviews of both to come.

As a little extra - My friend N (nail polish fairy?) gifted me with this bad boy - nails inc's graffiti. I was so excited I quickly chucked it on over my NOTD (pink bubbles) and they were a perfect pairing. I can't wait to give this a proper try out. Thank you Unnie x

Face time :)

Hi Guys :)

I wanted to talk face products. Back in the day I was quite picky about skincare and I equated high end products with high end results. To be fair, most of the products I used worked and saved me (dramatic much?). Origins Dr Weil's Mega Mushroom range made my skin much better but most of all, it made me feel better about myself and those green potions were like a security blanket for me.

Then came the time when I felt it was time to switch it up and I tried other brands (Clinique and clarins) and these were ok and then when my skin hadn't freaked out too much from the changes I legged it to the high street!

Moisturiser-wise I went for the simple approach. Vitamin E cream from the health food shop. Went through tons of the stuff and then over time the price went up and up. I started off paying around £3 for a tub and now it's about £8-9. I don't think so sweetie.

So then I headed off to Superdrugs and just picked up a bunch of whatever was in offer. When the stuff is around the £4 mark it's ok to have a few misses!

So anyways I won't go through every single product because I am sure you're already getting bored.

This is the stuff I'm currently using. My skin has changed a lot again recently.
My skin was 'normal' and then when it went crazy it was super dry and sensitive and now? I don't know! I feel weird saying its oily because I've been so use to treating it as super dry. But the truth is I've got some shine going on.

First up we have Elizabeth Arden's 8 hour skin protectant. This is a cult product and for good reason. It's nice and thick. It has a smell some people don't like, but I can't smell it so I'm ok! This is fantastic slapped onto my lips at night but I try not to do that cos it aint cheap. My dad got it for me and was all "£25 for that?!?!". You can get some good deals if you search online. Currently looking for dupes but in the frame of mind that since this works I might as well stick with this for a while. We'll see. Anyway, the main use is on my nose. And if you know me, you know what I'm talking about. That constant nose rubbing and Vaseline applying? It's all about the 8 hour cream!! The side of my nose is where all the skin drama started and if I'm honest, I guess that small part of my face has taken over my life and blinded me to the rest of my face needs. Next!!!

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo. This is another cult product but to be honest I'm not getting along too well with it and I got it cos I am a sheep and I want what everyone else has. This looks great on and applies well but it breaks me out like a mofo. As not to waste this I've been applying it on my forehead to ease the shine and I haven't broken out there. Everyone seems to love this though and it's suppose to make skin better so do some research and you might find it saves your skin. Not a repurchase for me though!

Now this product I'm loving. Superdrug's Optimum super antioxidant grape ultra protecting eye cream. Bloody hell, let's just say eye cream yeah? 15ml rrp £9.99 but I got it for £4.99 and will be stocking up. This is everything you want a decent eye cream to be. Light but moisturising. It sinks in and it doesn't sting like a bitch. I use this day and night. Previously I'd been using another Superdrug product, vitamin e eye cream for about £3. Pile of shit. I didn't finish it even when I didn't have a replacement. It was so bad that using nothing was better than using that! But anyway, so I though that this grape stuff might be better and I was right and me and my eye area are happy :)

Last up we have the Nivea cream. I was going to go for the old school navy blue tin stuff but this was on offer for £1.45 so I had to try it! Do I love it? No, but it's ok. It does what it says but it's nothing special. If it was still £1.45 I'd definitely repurchase but since it's back to normal rrp I shall be flirting around with some other cheapy products. Look forward to my Superdrug trip tomorrow :)

My mum got me these leopard print wedges (I chose, she paid) a while ago, and I loved them but ended up returning them because a) I'm not a hooker b) I could have done with 1/2 size up 3) they didn't go with any of my clothes

Shopped for some alternatives, these heels could kill a man. Especially with my weight on them!!! Also tried on some copycat Lita's (no pic) and omg I want!!!

Mummy got me a replacement. I love them beyond words. On sale in good old M&S, £25 (RRP £49.99). They are just perfect and I am in love.

So that's the story behind my feet huggers :)

A post about some boring face stuff.

Almost out of my current eye cream (Avon's Anew Clinical Eye Lift) and was on the market for a cheaper eye cream (both the Avon and my usual Clinique are around the £20 mark) so I picked this up from Boots, 2 for £4!!!

It's just your bog average eye cream with spf15. And I love it! It's moisturising and doesn't sting. Been using this for about a week and very tempted to buy another 1340295693 tubes. Any product which awakens my bulk buy mentality is all good to me!

I've been wanting to use up my random products so I'm back on the BB cream but as you know colour match isn't great so I have to mix it with a (much) darker foundation. The above is the colour 'caramel'.

I just stick a few blobs on my hand and mix and ta da!

Erm, that's about it really. But had to share the eye cream with you. Share the love and all that :)

Boi-ing!!!

I wanted to share my recent purchase with you all. I got this concealer (Benefit's Boi-ing) from the Boots counter in Westfield Stratford City.

It was £16 but I have been wanting this forever and I've run out of concealer (my clinique's line smoothing concealer) so I thought I'd treat myself and try this out.

This only comes in 3 shades, shade 2 was too light for me (cos you know I like my bronzer!) so I got shade 3 which is dark for me, but once my foundation is on I'm totally fine. I think this is the case because I'm not using this for my under eye area but for my blemishes (pizza face) and most of that crap is around my cheek and jaw area.

The big question - was it worth £16? No. I've only used it two days and though it's not awful it is NOT industrial strength. I appreciate my skin is on the extreme side of bad but any clinique concealer works it magic, as does Laura Mercier's secret concealer.

It has got a lovely creamy consistency which makes it a joy to blend and there's no dragging (which is really important if you are using it on the eye area) and the coverage is really good - for about 5 minutes. Ok, 5 minutes is a lie but it really doesn't last. I am not one of those people who expects their make up to last 16 hours/24 hours but seriously, this lasts a few hours which is not good for a product this price.

So? I've put Clinique line smoothing concealer on my birthday wishlist and....I don't know. Obviously I am not going to chuck it, I will use it up eventually. Hopefully before I turn 50 years old!!!
