New year, new shoes! Asos shoe haul

Hi Guys!

I made an asos order and it's arrived. There was a note in my post box saying my parcel had been left under the doormat. Is this guy making fun out of me!?!?! LOL

I ordered two pairs of shoes, and a pair of boots. I ended up selling on the boots to SF, returning the gold tip shoes, and keeping the tassel loafers. No I was not drunk when making my decision!!!

So the tan cutout boots are actually from Newlook but purchased off of the ASOS website (on a side note, I love that Asos Curve sell Newlook's Inspire range) - I love them but I really didn't need them. I was ready to send them back when SF also fell in love with them. £14.50 in the sale. I wish I had kept them, but since they aren't really suitable for work and I don't leave the house on the weekend I had to make the mature choice and say goodbye!!!

Next pair of shoes were ASOS brand and they were the gold tipped loafer. My friends think I am going mad, but I know what I was thinking. They were in the sale for £25 and I would have totally kept them but they were so narrow I nearly lost consciousness when trying them on!!! Goodbye funky shoes!
Finally! I found my 'solemate' lol

Black slighty shiny (not patent, but that proper fake leather, you know what I'm saying?) loafers with a fun tassel. Asos brand and £22 in the sale. They are really comfortable. And again my friends laugh at me but I really wanted a flat shoe that wasn't a pump.

Apologies for the terrible quality picture but here's me dancing around on my furry carpet. These shoes aren't pretty but they make me happy :)

Haul - Converse

Hi Guys!

Ok this post is long over due. Basically, I finally got my hands (feet!) on some Converse.
I went for the classic white ox. I gt them in size uk 6 (European 39) from asos and they cost approx. £40-45 (I got mine with a discount).
I have wanted a pair of Converse for literally years, maybe a decade but for £40 they're not really 'me'. When would I wear them? What would I wear them with? What handbag do you carry with trainers? Can you wear as much eyeliner as I do and then wear white Converse? Drag queen on a day off? So many questions.

An asos discount and the realisation that I'm getting old and if I didn't get them now I would probably die without ever owning a pair of Converse( dramatic much?) convinced me to part with my money, and go casual on my feet.
And? I hate them. They bloody hurt. 5, 6, 7 - none of them fit me. Pain. Pain Pain. They don't fit my wide farmer's feet and they don't look god on my hippo legs. They don't go with my handbags or my eyeliner. I'm not cool or casual enough to wear Converse. I look like a very clean tramp wearing these - I don't have that cool, nonchalant blogger look that I was aiming/wishing for (you know what I mean). And seriously, they hurt!!!! :(

I'm glad that I got the Converse craving out of my system. I'm really happy I only got one pair, cos boy you know me I was ready to get them in all the colours, in the dainty and in the high top. They hurt within 2 minutes of putting them on so these may stay fresh forever. I'll probably put them on ebay, but I'll keep them n my life for a bit longer, so that I can hold onto my youth for a bit longer!!!

OOTD: Studs and leopard print

[Pic 1]

Hi Guys!

Outfit of the day for you featuring my DIY studded white shirt from ebay. Apologies for the crappy photo's but I wanted to show as much as I could and was running late for work!

What I'm wearing:

White shirt -ebay (DIY Studded collar)

Beige mini skirt - Dorothy Perkins £5!

Leopard print skinny belt - Asos

Over sized blazer coat - Primark (a long time ago)

[Pic 2]

[Pic 3]

And just one more photo (sorry about the mess) from a different day but to show you the coat in more detail:

[Pic 4]

The coat is...coat material (!) with cropped sleeves (past the elbow). It is literally just a big blazer jacket (with the most lovely grey leopard print lining!). I bought it maybe two years ago and never wore it. It was too big and just a bit blah. But then I cut off the buttons and when the winter is mild I just wear it open like a blazer [picture 2] and if I want a bit more shape and coverage I belt it [picture 4]. I think it's really cool and laid back and an interesting piece to throw on over skinny jeans.

Thanks for reading :)

OOTD x3

Hi Guys :)

Just a few outfit of the day's to share:

First up, black caped asos dress with milk maid braids (which provided endless entertainment for my work mates);

My teal primark dress again. I think I love it. I liked wearing it the 2nd time much more than the first. Teamed it with my leopard print shoes, american apparrel leather large clutch and my new ebay purchase - owl pendant.

This owl pendant is my new favourite thing. Ebay for about £1.38 inc p+p. It came on a long necklace but due to my skin allergies I transferred the pendant to a leather necklace I also got on ebay (I got it ages ago - I think it was around £3.00).

As friends and regular blog readers might notice, I don't usually (ever!) wear jewelry so I felt very feminine and a bit flashy with my owl friend. Since I enjoyed wearing it so much, I went a bit crazy and have ordered lots of pendants off ebay - oops!

Once they arrive I shall of course be sharing with you :)

Super duper casual OOTD: oversized peacock asos t shirt (purchased to wear for my marie curie 10k walk last year), primark leggings, primark peachy nude studded pumps, and my owl necklace :)

On a sidenote...

I love living near work. Extra time in bed. No travel costs. No panic attacks on public transport. No need to endlessly snack on the journey (I worry I'll starve on any sort of journey).

BUT....

Argh. Sometimes a girl wants to pop to the post office on the weekend in her big t shirt, ponytail and leggings with a few holes in it without bumping into colleagues who are doing overtime weekend!! You know what I'm saying?! lol

I feel that 'all' the effort I put into my work clothes is lost once someone see's me without eye shadow, hair spray and a clinched waist lol

Back you go!

Hi Guys,

I did a massive asos and primark haul recently but I was so shocked when I got my credit card statement that I returned most of the stuff before I could take pics/blog.

Here's some random pics I did take:

[Above and below] Leather thong necklace from asos, Dogearred. 100 mixed beads - each bead representing a good wish. It was cute and I loved the concept but it just wasn't my style.

[Below: Primark stuffs]

Pleated cream and black chiffon maxi skirt. Soooo cool on so many levels. Soooo wrong on me on so many levels. Very sad to return this - it's so the look I want to be rocking this summer :(

Not sure what I was thinking when I put this stripey top in my shopping basket. Too clingy and...tacky!! I do love stripes do so hopefully I will get a (nice) striped tee soon.

The shoes!! £15 each and gorgeous. Typical me I got the black and the mink. There was also tan but they didn't have my colour otherwise I'd have have gotten that too.......and returned all 3. PAIN! Very uncomfortable for me. Sole too flat, would have been better with a platform sole I think.

I must be the only person who goes home with more money after a 'shopping' trip since I am always returning things!!

OOTD x2

Hello,

Two 'outfit of the days' for you.

London has been lovely and sunny this week. I'm happy that I started fake tanning (going really well!) when I did because I've been doing a lot of leg baring towards the end of the week.

[Above] Firstly, sorry about the lighting! I wore this on Monday and it was a great start to the week. One of my new dresses from ASOS, a beige cape back dress. I will try to capture the cape back soon as that is what the dress is all about. The front is just blah, but I love blah so yay lol Teamed the dress with a wide tan belt, black tights and my new primark nude ballet pumps. Of course I accessorised with my asos watch and star chord bracelet (and cut up tights haha!!).

[Above and Below] My fav thing about Monday's outfit was the entire look. I wore my spring go-to Gap mac, my new primark scarf (do you love it!? I DO!!) and I carried my junk in my tan medium satchel primark bag (not pictured).

[Below]

I think this is what I wore on Tuesday, simply judging by the fact my hair parting has flipped over from Monday lol

Really simply but really 'springy' for me. It's a shame all the colour are washed out because amazing I am not wearing anything black, cream or nude!!

I am wearing a Gap men's grandad shirt, a very subtle blue and white stripe (just looks baby) tucked into my Dorothy Perkins charcoal grey jersey tulip(ish) skirt and I stuck a tan belt around the waist. I am wearing my new primark leopard print pumps teams with my bare legs yaaaaaaaay!

No cardi, coat or scarf. Spring is here!!!

How have you guys transitioned into spring?

Are you still holding onto your uggs or are you rocking flip flops yet?

Wrist Candy

Hi Guys,

I got my asos package the other day and it was a bit hit and miss but these are two things that I really like and I've worn them every day since I received them :)

As regular readers know I've been really really wanting a watch for a while now but my budget/allergies didn't give me much scope.

However, with an asos sale on I thought that now was a good time to give it a go so I got myself a cheap watch (sale price was £14!!!!). It's 'gold' and 'silver' and very very plain with a big face. I love it!! And it feels so nice to have a watch on my wrist. I feel grown up and polished and it adds a bit of pow to my plain outfits.

I know what you are thinking......£14, 24 karat gold?! Erm, no it's not. What I've done is cut up a pair of 'flesh' coloured 15 denier tights (width of the watched) and I wear it under my watch!!! Yes, it does show but hey, I don't care, at least I get to wear my watch and there's no itching involved.

The other item I am happy with is that....black thread lol It really is just a black thread with a 'gold' star on it. I just wear that with my watch and it kinda takes away from the tights lol

A blah blah blah

Woo hoo its 21:20 and I am awake! It's been such a long and boring weekend that now I can't sleep.

Yesterday I did nothing.

Today I did nothing.

Yay(!)

Actually Saturday was like the zombie apocalypse. On a day like that I really really miss having a Saturday job!!! And the worst thing about Saturday was 'Mamma Mia!'. Holy crap it was a huge pile of shite. That's nearly two hours of my life I will never get back :(

Today was not so bad. I tidied a bit. I watched a lot of CSI. And I got an email from ASOS about their mid season sale preview.....

Credit card says "OUCH!!!!!" lol Because I am a VIP (I love retail psychology!) I get to shop the sale before it starts (tomorrow if you are interested). And of course it would have been rude not to browse. And then save items. And then add items to basket. And dump some items. And pay.

Initially I had £679 worth of junk in my basket. And that's with the discounted price!! After a lot of ummung and arring I ended up paying just over £200 for 13 items and free next day delivery (which is Tuesday since I order past the cut off time) but I order a few duplicate items in different sizes so really I think I spent just over £100...I tried to be as sensible as possible. And it has been ages since I hauled so I don't feel too awful. Until I friggin blogged it. ARGH.

No, I am cool. I need a bit of cheering up, and plus I'll probably return a lot of it and end up with one black dress lol

Oh! I also applied my fake tan today. Both the lotion and the spray. It definitely wasn't showing around 6pm when the natural light was showing and now I am covered in the glow of the yellow light bulb so I have no idea if I am white, orange or a beautiful bronzed (fingers crossed for the latter!!!!!!!)

I am suppose to apply the lotion everyday so I'll be swapping out my baby oil for it. Hopefully I don't become slack and forget to pre-moisturise my ultra dry bits (elbows, ankles, knees).

I really really hope that my 'tan' doesn't transfer to my bedsheets. That would be just my luck, I stay white, my bed goes bronze!

I hope you all had a more fun filled weekend xxx

Give it the boot!

Yesterday I received my asos parcel. I will show you the rest later. But one thing I tried on straight away were these boots.

Let me just be straight: I hate them.

Lace up fold over cuff boot. £25 on sale. There's nothing wrong with the boot itself. But for me, and on me, YUCK

I was going for the 'toughen up a cute outfit' kinda look but it just doesn't work for me, I just look Like I've got someone else's feet.

And on a more practical side, they hurt like hell! I initially put them on the wrong feet (DUH!!!) but when I put them onto the right feet it didn't help.

So these are going straight back!

On the search for...a hard case purse

ASOS | ASOS Red Patent Hard Case Purse at ASOS

***Click link above for a visual aid!***

I need a new purse for my new Zara bag. And I thought that a hard case purse would be a good idea. I don't necessarily need a small purse; what I need is a thin purse and this fits the bill right?

What do you think of the colour ? Asos have a few colour ways; full price options are £16 and the sale options are £8 which is reasonable since I really really want one!

[Edit: I just searched 'hard case purse' on ebay and price wise the asos sale and full price are good prices. However, one of the ebay listings also handily gave the dimensions so I took my tape measure to my purse* and it's the bloody same size!!! (Not sure about depth but my purse is quite thin already.....what to do what to do]

*I usually use the Louis Vuitton zippy purse but that obviously is toooo big so I switched to the Sarah (plain) and it's a better fit but not perfect.

Conclusion? I will stick with the Sarah. SInce the dimensions are so close it's not worth buying a new purse for one bloody bag. And plus, I'm saving for a LV card holder. Cos I'm sad like that!

Day 29 – Something I could never get tired of doing.

Hi!

Sorry for popping in and out, been feeling poorly but want to finish the 30 day challenge.

I've been thinking about what I could write about for this challenge and I can't really think of anything that isn't along the lines of eating, sleeping, eating or sleeping ;)

This is lame but true; something that I don't think I could ever get tired of doing is virtual window shopping on asos. I just pop everything and anything into the basket (normal size range and all) and then I dump it. It's fun and feels good and it's free. Obviously sometimes I seem to forget the point of the window shopping and end up buying the stuff but I'm usually successful with the basket dumping :)

Asos Curve - 'Un-haul'

Hi Guys,

This is a belated post but thought I'd do it anyway...

On on 10th October I ordered a few things from Asos.com. I ordered 4 pair of boots, two dresses and a pair of denim shorts.

On 13th October there was an attempt to deliver it (supposedly) but anyway it ended up at my local Post Office. I went to pick it up on the 19th Oct and boy I was shocked at the size of the box (but what did I expect with 4 boot boxes in the order?!)

(This might sound boring but this is the 'funnest' part of the whole thing, the 'haul' itself is crap.)

I had picked up the box at lunchtime so took it back to work. At the end of my work day i excitedly opened up the box. At this point in time I'm neither impressed or unimpressed, just a bit 'whatever'.

Basically I can't take the box home because it's too big to walk with it, and too big to take it on the bus. So I try on all the boots at work (more on that in a bit) and I decide to take home the clothes to try on.

No pictures of clothes because frankly, FUGLY.
Dress 1 was a 'waterfall dress'; a dressy dress with giant frills down the front. Potentially gorgeous maybe, but it was waaaay too big for me, so much so that the shoulders were slipping off.

Dress 2 was a big big let down; a work dress. Totally not what I was expecting in terms of fabric or style. I remember wanting it when it first came out but at £40 I was not getting it. I brought it for £12 so it's a shame I hated it. Was umming and arring about keeping it but what was the point? And then i realised it was dry clean only so that was my mind made up!

And then the denim shorts. WHAT WAS I THINKING? Again, potentially would have been ok but they were massive. I could put them on without undping any fastenings. And then they fell straight down without any effort. - In regards to getting dress 1 and shorts in a smaller size; it wouldn't have worked.

Now the boots....all gorgeous. I basically got two styles, each in a black and a natural/tan/camel colour.

Boot 1 was a low ankle boot with a mid cone heel and a laced back. Basically too small :(

Boot 2 was a mid ankle boot, again with a mid heel. Basically a girly Chelsea boot.

So........out of that stuff, the only thing I kept was the black chelsea boot. And it's not love but it's a staple and it was a crazy bargain so I couldn't return it!

Better luck next time!!!

xoxo

Do I like this?

So a while ago I wrote a post about how much I wanted a playsuit and tah da I went onto asos.com to have a look-see at the new stock and look what I've found!

Ok, I admit it, I'm not overly impressed. I am 'in like' not 'in love'. And actually I'm not even sure if I am 'in like' - the main problem I guess is the block print. It's a bit much for me. And the 2nd problem is the wrapover front. I cannot do wrapover. There's this whole lie surrounding fat women and the wonders of the wrapover and I totally don't get it.

But anyway, I'm not going to get this (esp as it's £36) but strangely enough I tried on a playsuit in primark today. It was gorgeous and it suited me (but I didn't buy it cos it was toooooo small) so the hunt for a playsuit is still on. I hope I find one. And I am looking forward to having one for winter cos it means I'll be able to wear it with tights and look like less of a sket ;)

Random stuff: asos haul, wedding cake, I heart my mum

Hi Guys,
So I've posted a few entries today so I hope I've been forgiven for my absence.

Before I go to bed (bed sweet bed!) I thought I'd quickly do a random post with some photo's I had on my phone, and then I think I'm up-to-date.

First photo shows my latest asos haul - first haul after my self-imposed ban. I had to get my Walk 10 outfit, and I had to order a lot to get my free next day delivery but I did send back quite a lot of the stuff shown.

When I did Walk 10 I wore a long white peacock t-shirt with leggings, and in my bag (prada across the body - the rucksack my brother lent me was just not cutting the mustard!!!) I had a blue festival poncho with the tags still on - it didn't rain so I've returned the poncho :) ...it wasn't really a poncho by the way, it was just like a normal lightweight waterproof but it had no fastenings, you put it on/off like a hoodie.

The next pic just made me laugh. Before I went to Cambridge my mum and brother came round to drop off a suitcase and stuff and bless my mum she had on these shoes and I had to take a pic to show you.

The last pic is of the gorgeous wedding cake L made for a mutual friends wedding. And L said she'd do one for me too.......so all I need now is someone to marry.....any offers?!

Dear....Mary Kate and Ashley

Hi guys,

Just thought I'd quickly throw down some random words before dinner time as I miss rambling.

I've had a busy week, work wise and socially. I've been sleeping really late every night and jesus I feel it in my old bones!

I plan to get my hair cut (trimmed) in about 2 weeks but not sure if I can handle the emotional turmoil I go through every time a pair of scissors comes near my hair so we will see. Plus I think I should wait for my next credit card bill before I start planning to spend even 50p!!

On Monday AK came round and we ate kebab and had a good old girly gossip. She took her epilator back (bye bye!) and penny palace felt empty without it.

On Tuesday I went round to SF's again for food and girlie gossip and that turned into a much longer night than planned but I had the best time. Also managed to pick up another epilator from her (which I've used and love, but will review after about a month) so I haven't turned into a gorilla as I feared lol

Wednesday....I was home alone and I had spaghetti bolognaise and cheesy garlic bread (that I put together myself) for dinner. This will also be my dinner for today (and was actually dinner on Tuesday at SF's too!). Luckily I love spag bol lol

AK is at a wedding close by to me so she said she might pop round later but generally speaking my plans for this evening is to just relax, eat and then pick up all the crap laying around as it has got to a point where I can't take two steps without tripping up.

I made an order for some fancy (full) slips the other day and picked them up at the post office yesterday. I was so excited to get home and try them on....they don't quite fit. I'm so pissed off with myself for being so optimstic when ordering them, I knew I should have gone for a bigger size but the site had the crappest return policy so I am stuck with them. And they were expensive (well, they were a bargain but I could hav egot plain polyester for £5 at matalan kmt) so I will make them work.

Today I made another trip to the post office (I've been at least 3 times in July and haven't burst into tears once, really proud of myself!) to return some asos stuff - the package was nearly 3kg!!! That will be some welcomed money back onto my credit card!!!

I'm really proud of myself because last night I was browsing through the ASOS site and it said that it was the last day of sale and I was so tempted to buy a few hundred things but I kept my 'no asos' pledge and just logged offline. [Edit - after a better look the sale stuff is still online but under 'sale' not 'clearance' - i am so clever (!)]

However, I am now on asos looking at the new stuff. I don't think I said how long I was boycotting them for; tomorrow is pay day........*haha* ......hhmmm I've had a look at the curve collection - dress wise I'm only medium-loving one but it's more for autumn so I won't rush to buy that. Had a look at the normal collection and there's 2 dresses I like but I think I'll try hold out for a reduction cos one of the dresses I already have in black (x2) and navy and the other one I wouldnt be able to wear to work so it's a bit pointless considering I work 6 days a week and day 7 is PJ day!! lol

Oooooh, 6:10pm it's officially dinner time!!

Thank you for reading,

Bye xoxo
