[UPDATED} Pure coconut Oil - as a balm cleanser / make up remover

Hi Guys - A short while back I did a post on how much I was loving using pre coconut oil on my hair - and I still do.

I've read quite a bit on how good coconut oil is as a balm cleanser/make up remover but was worried it would cause some sort of reaction. There's a few tutorials you can look up where essential oils are  added but these tend to cause me to break out so I just want in raw. I was really bored so that's why I decided to do this - maybe I should get a hobby. 

HOW TO:

Scooped out some coconut oil and whacked it on my face.
Rubbed it around my face
Rubbed some more on my eyes and gently massaged eyelids
Rubbed lashes between thumb and finger
Used face wipe to get rid of oily residue
Washed face as normal

I've done this 3 times now - it looks super messy - but that mess is just the mess that was already on your face!  I found it easy to wipe off and it left my skin feeling nice (not oily). However, however! I've noticed a few red spots on my cheeks. Now, we all know I' m spottier than Spot the dog but these are different - so I've given it a rest for the moment, I have some important stuff coming up but once that's over I'm going to give it another go. I think as a weekend cleanse it shouldn't be too bad for me.

Pure Coconut Oil

I've jumped onto the latest bandwagon and hooked myself up with some coconut oil.
The blogger world has fallen in love with this stuff, and I have too!

I got mine from my local hair and beauty shop, £2.50 for 500ml. You can buy better packaged coconut oil for a much higher price, but it's pure coconut oil so you're not paying for a better product (am I making sense?) You can buy pure coconut oil for £15 if that makes you feel safer.

Anyway, you can use this stuff to cook with, put it on your skin, pop it in your hair. At a certain temperature the oil is 'solid' and when melted it's...oil. I purchased this primarily to use on my hair but find myself also rubbing some on my elbows, knees, ankles and ears.

I use to use olive oil on my hair and i can't say which gives better results as I purchased the coconut oil after the bleaching but I do like this. I don't know if  it's a miracle product as some people are saying but it's doing me no harm.
I really like the way it goes on and feels in my hair. Olive oil was, no surprise, wet and oily. It was messy and hard to wash out. Coconut oil is less wet and I find that it washes out really well. I just scoop out a bit of the hard oil and melt it in my hands - literally 5 seconds - and then just comb it through the entire length of my hair. Any residue I run through my scalp. I like to do this over the weekend and wash it out Monday but I've read that after a certain time (30 mins? Couple of hours?) hair stops absorbing whatever goodness you've put n it, but to be honest the no washing is also part laziness so I'm not too bothered.

Hi Guys!

For my birthday I was given a hot pink ipod shuffle 4th gen and I love it :) But since I murdered my last ipod (actually the last few) with scratches and cracks I thought I'd try and protect my 'puffle pod' (yaaaaaay) as best I could.

As it doesn't have any glass I'm not concerned about breakage, despite the tiny size it's very sturdy, but I was concerned about scratching up my beautiful hot pink puffle so I looked into some sort of 'skin' for my puffle pod.

I knew I wanted leopard print so spent a while googling stuff like 'shuffle leopard print case/cover' etc but wasn't having that much luck. Then I randomly came across an american site about 'skins' which are basically stickers and so started researching UK sites that did skins.

Turned out that there was quite an abundance of sites doing this sorta thang, but not for the ipod shuffle 4th generation. By now I was determined to get what I wanted and so I emailed a few sites about the possibility of custom making me a leopard print skin for my ipod shuffle 4th gen and a out of the bunch I emailed I got a few 'sorry's', a few 'yes we could do that' and then my reply from wrappz.

Wrappz is the company I ended up purchasing from because their customer service was really really good. And their product that arrived was really good too! Exactly what I wanted and loving my puffle even more now :)
