What to wear?

Ok, so I've been invited to a wedding (in July). I have never ever been to a wedding before. And I am mega excited. And mega scared cos I hate social gatherings. But I've got a lot of months to prepare myself and if worse comes to worse I could just attend the church bit. But I'm just ignoring the fear bit for now and focusing on the most important thing - what am I going to wear?

There are many obstacles and things to think about when choosing my outfit. The biggest thing is obviously erm, well my big everything. It's not easy for a fat girl to dress herself on a daily basis. It is even harder on a 'special occassion' basis. Especially due to my height and age. There are loads of websites for old fat women of average height and above but nothing for midget round young ladies. And then there's cost: I can't afford to shell out on loads. There are a few lovely things for fat girls but then thats expensive. I mean, go check out Anna Scholtz. Beautiful beautiful outfits but sooo expensive (for my pocket). And because I don't go out a lot I'm not really going to be getting my moneys worth.

Which brings me onto my next thing: colour and style.
Preferably, I'd want to wear black cos hey, after I party hard I can wear it to work too! (Or a funeral).
Next colour choice would be cream. And I've done my online research and this is a big no no. I'm not being funny, but no one is going to mistake me for the bride. And even if the bride to be wore a bin bag there is no way I'd upstage her wearing a white frock and veil, I'm really not the upstaging type (unless there's going to be an eating competition then I would whoop arse!)

In people's mind when they think wedding they think nice pretty party style dress. Either Monsoon or Lipsy type stuff. And so I understand why when I mention black or cream they start twitching but realistically, for me and what my body shape can wear, I sadly won't be wearing those type of dress. I'll be wearing a loose cotton shift with sleeves (or at least short sleeves). And to me, that in black or cream is ok. The only issue is that someone might mistake me for a nun.

My other problem is legs. As the wedding in July that = no tights. As you can see from the picture above, I don't have a problem with the length of my hemline as long as I am wearing thiiiiiiiick tights. Without tights (and nude tights basically counts as no tights, same rules apply) I'm going to have to try and get something just under the knee. Jesus it gets bloody harder and harder per body part :(

Oh and by the way, I don't do trousers. I do skinny jeans and leggings but no trousers. I wear trousers to work maybe twice a year. SO lets just not think of that as an option.

So far I've equated wedding outfit with a dress, how about if I wear a skirt and top combo? That is definitely in my head, and much easier to put together but I'm still in the same rut with arms, legs, dress length, price, size and colour. And add to that frumpiness. I don't want to look like I'm going to the office.

Oh god I've got a headache. Help!!!!!!!
