Window shopping in primarni

Hi guys,

I popped into primark the other day. Brought some stuff which I'll try to post soon.

Here's some pics of the stuff I tried on bit didn't get...because they looked crap on me as you can see. Thought that I would share anyway :)

Leopard print 'cover' - I acutally really liked this but I didn't 'need' it so I was good and left it in the shop. Also tried on a ivory patterned version which was totally gorgeous but again, didn't need it.

OMG This ruffly top looked so cute on the hanger; I thought I could wear it under a jacket or cardi with a tulip skirt but holy cow I look like a buffalo caught in some jellyfish:(

I don't know what I was thinking when I grabbed this dress off the rail. I do have my jeans on underneath but I don't think that's the problem....lol Very fun though.

Playsuit!!!!! Again, too lazy to take off my jeans. I loved this but it was a bit tight and also, it was so hard to take off! I thought I would have to call for help but after much struggling and sweating I managed to escape.

I acutally brought this top! I was inspired to go to Primark after seeing my friend's haul and in her haul was this polka dot top. I'm not sure if I do love it as much as I thought I did. My friend is a little size 8 and her top is cute. Mine looks like camoflage/a table cloth...

Anyway, I like trying clothes on in store and taking pics - its feeds the need to shop without emptying your purse!!

More lent hair!

Hello!

Just a quickie - Wednesday's and Thursday's hair that got left off the previous post.

Washed my hair on Wednesday and blow dried it. Plaited the front on either side of my parting and tied into a side ponytail.

Same again for Thursday's hair.

Bye!

Lent Hair - week 2

Hi guys!

Second week into lent and I'm doing ok with not using hair straighteners.

Photo above and below is me and my monday hair. Changed my top because I thought the blush top showed off my curls better than the black haha! I just washed and dried and then created loose curls with my conical wand.

Tuesday's hair is a top-side bun. Saw a photo in a magazine and thought it gave my usual big bun a twist. It's suppose to be a big bun high on your head but to the side - I did try but it looks more lopsided rather than a statement hair style. Hopefully I'll do better next time.

[Wednesday's and Thursday's pictures will be in the next post - I deleted the pics by accident and can't add them to my post...]

And this is me today...and yes I fell off the bandwagon. Sorry Jesus. But 1 naughty day out of the 5 days isn't the end of the world. I will be back on the wagon tomorrow :)

Avon haul

Hi guys!

Just wanted to quickly share with you my Avon haul. SF is an Avon addict so whenever I'm around hers I obviously 'have to' flick through the Avon catalogue.

I'm happy with my purchases as I got all on a promotional price.

(sorry for the upside down pics)

DIY body scrub

Hi guys!

Part boredom and part hunger (but don't worry I did not eat it!!) - I made a simple body scrub for my legs.

As regular readers will be aware I epilate my legs. Love it but it does leave my legs a bit plucked chicken sometimes!

So I just epilated and thought to myself "wish I had a leg scrub"And then I thought, "hhhmm I do have caster sugar...wonder if I could mix it with olive oil" and I google it and yes you can!

Grabbed a empty Chinese takeaway box (cos its got a lid) poured in some caster sugar and olive oil, mixed it together (I used a chop stick in honour of my yellowness), added a bit more oil (whatever consistency works for you is fine, it's not rocket science), mixed again and booooom! Ready to rock and roll!

I would recommend doing it in the bath or something. I did it on a tea towel sitting on the sofa...after I post this I need to get the Hoover out!

Also, I would strongly advise you do not use this DIY stuf on your face as the sugar is abrasive. However, I also use a similar product (lush bubblegum lip scrub) on my lips. Amazing!

St Patrick's Day

Hello!

Better late than never...Hope those of you who celebrate St Patrick's Day had a great day. Actually, out of my 4 readers, 2 definitely do celebrate St Patrick's day so this post isn't totally uncalled for.

I had the best St Patrick's day ever. I am Thairish, fifth generation irish. Well, no i am not. But my dad drinks so much guinness that I must have the stuff in my DNA which in turn makes me Thairish! lol

I always celebrate this day one way or the other. I love seeing lots of green and guinness and big hats (aim for next year is to get a big hat!)

Here's some pics from St Paddy's:

Sorry I've posted this pic already but this was my St Paddy's day outfit - green of course! My camera did it no justice but it's a gorgeous bright green.

Of course, it was also Cheltenham week too so I spent a lot of St Paddy's day screaming at horses on the tv.

What would St Paddy's be without the black stuff?! I had a fake guinness, aka diet coke :) I wish the barmaid had put it in a guinness glass inside of the john smiths. And I was in an irish pub. KMT.

Lunch was a beef and guinness stew. OMG It was amazing. And only a fiver!

And continuing on my irish journey, dinner was sausage and mash I made myself (ok fine, the mash is smash!). I love this picture, seeing the steam rising from my just-out-the-oven sausages makes me smile :)

I hope you guys had a great St Paddy's day xoxo

Lent

This post is up a bit late, but have you given up anything for Lent?

I had the intention of giving up my hair straighteners (massive sacrifice!!) and it is proving a challenge....that I continuously fail at!

So on Shrove Tuesday (March 8th) I decided that I would give up eye shadow and hair straighteners. Morning of Wednesday 9th I wake up full of good intentions but after I've washed and dried my hair (hair dryer is a-ok) I just cannot face the house looking like a frizzy zombie, so I striaghtened it. And then my face was so blah that I had to put on a ton of eyeshadow. Went to work feeling sheepish after falling at the first hurdle, but looking great ;)

So Thursday I dried shampoo'd and had my hair out so that didn't really count as a fresh start so ignore that day.

Friday I again wake up with good intentions and this time I fulfill them!!

It's been just over a week of my 'Lenting' and I hope Jesus appreciates my attempts. It's the thought that counts right?

I'll be honest; I have not fully straightened my hair since the Lenting begun but hair straighteners have touched the front of my hair a few times.

Here's some pics from the past week (in a random order). As you can tell, I've been embracing bobby pins and hairspray.

Gently easing myself into my Lenting...This was my first proper Lenting hairstyle. I just washed and blowdried and then straightened a tiny tiny bit of the front strands. By lunchtime my hair looked like I'd been rubbing balloons all over it.

Working with 'second day hair' from the above pic, I just rolled and pinned it up. The quiffy bit just happened naturally. The back isn't quick a bun....more of a croissant LOL But the volume of the front balances it out.

I feel very self conscious with my hair up and out of my face and even if the style comes out nice I always feel quite shite to be honest. But anything for Jesus!! And this Lenting thing is good for me too; teaches me...something.

Happy St Patricks Day!! Dressed in green (i wore a black skirt over the dress to go to work) and I'm rocking the hairstyle which has gotten the most comments.

I just started from my parting and rolled back (about an inch or two) round my head until I reached the back of my head (all the way to my ear) and had a side pony tail. I then roughly pinned my 'roll' and pony and quickly rolled the front part of hair (same side as pony) and tied up my hair. I then did a messy fishtail braid and TA DA!! I guess from the front it's like a pretend victory roll? I don't know, but that's where I got my inspiration from.

This is from dress down Friday at work. I think my hair is getting used to not being straightened as this is the same 'style' as the first pic posted. Washed, dried and straightened a tiny tiny bit at the front. You can tell from the pic that there's less frizz at the top (though the length is still a big bush but I'm getting used to it).

This is me from yesterday. I was just popping to the shops. Went for my classic big bun. I feel quite proud of myself that yesterday was the first day I reached for my doughnut. Because doing this style everyday would be such a cop out.

My aim for the next fortnight is to get to grips with the front braid - I've given myself 2 weeks because I've been attempting the front braid for ages and really can't do it. I think it's because I don't have a lot of hair on top so it never looks right. I might have to amend it slightly to suit my hair.

Hope Lent is going well for you :)

I WANT!!!

OMG I want this!!!!!

The Mulberry Daria Mini Messenger. Ooooooooooh my heart is aching for this. A lil handbag especially for ipenny. A match made in heaven! Is it worth £169 though?

I wonder if I could hold out for my birthday........erm, more than 8 months? I dont think so! Argh. I wish I hadn't seen this :(

...but I might need it for...something

I hate throwing stuff away. I don't know what I might need a hundred trashy magazines for (sorry bazaar - but honestly, you're just full of advertisements for stuff I can't afford)

Spring clean

Hi everyone!

Hope you've had a good weekend. I'm spending today doing such much needed cleaning and tidying. My living room looks like a jumble sale and the other day my dad got stuck to the kitchen floor (in my defence he was complimenting me on how clean my cooker was!!! Lol) so I couldn't put this off any longer.

Still looking like a jumble sale but now sparkling clean. But look at my poor nails (mushroom Barry m btw). Chipped and dry. Sexy hands(!)
