Hitler wants his hair back!

Hi Guys,

Sorry for the huge amount of movies recently. I guess since I can't (afford to) go out shopping I'm just passing the hours watching films. And blogging about it.

First film I watched today was 'Exam', a British film described as a psychological thriller. I actually enjoyed this, though I felt that Jimi Minstry's acting was a bit desperate. I did want to punch the screen a few times but due to my many 'quirks' a film based in a room you can't leave with a bunch of paranoid angry people would bring that violent streak out in me. I called for help via facebook halfway through as an endless amount of googling couldn't get me any spoilers. Since the whole film is based around 'the question' I won't reveal what the question and/or answer is, and I won't say who won....but if you want to know give me a shout!!
Should you watch this? Yes!!

Next film I decided to watch was Adventureland a comedy/drama, purely chosen because Kristen Stewart is in it. 23mins and 53 secs in and I've decided to give up. It's not that the film is bad (or good), but it's just not the sort of film I enjoy. After Juno (I did enjoy Juno though) we were hit with all these 'clever' teenage movies and frankly, I think they are pretentious and annoying. And usually ugly to watch. I haven't closed down the screen, I'm letting it wait in the corner in case I get desperate later. If so, I shall update this bit of the post.
Should you watch it? Yes if you think you are cool and better than everyone else and think you are an individual.

Next up is 'Ghost Town' starring Ricky Gervais. I am actually typing as this is loading so let's hope I get at least 10mins viewing out of this....

....Ok, I'm just about 30mins in. Ricky Gervais is Ricky Gervais. A dumpy guy with an awkward sense of humour. Hitler want's his hair back dude!! But Ricky playing the same character yet again is not a negative thing for me; if that's what he does 'well' then best to stick with it I say. I enjoyed the film enough to watch it until the end. So if you are bored I would recommend this.

The other two main characters are played by Greg Kinnear and Tea Leoni; I find these two actors (or actor and actress if you want to be pedantic about it) interesting becasue they're not quite massive movie stars but they are famous enough to leave me thinking: why are they in a supernatural comedy drama with Ricky Gervais? And the sad answer? Becasue they are not young or beautiful enough and they know this and they are taking whatever roles they can get.

Sorry I am miserable. But I am speaking the truth. (For the last few years) Tea always plays that 'I'm a normal woman living a normal life, that's why my characters always wear big shirts and have messy hair' character, and if you disagree, think about her character in 'Fun with Dick and Jane', or 'Spanglish' or 'The Family Man'. Her character ight have different financial situations which reflect in her wardrobe but still, always the same result, harassed 'real woman'. And any love/sex scene is always like "oh wow I am a normal woman and how exciting". Btw...I do actually like her. Nothing wrong if you can never trascend normalcy. At least you have transcended mediocrity by being a somewhat successful actress! And you managed to nab the dude from X files for a while. Better then me, no films under my belt and no hot ex husband.

Erm, apologies for random rant. I'll give it 4**** for being a total b*tch.

Irrelevant quote: "We're all the same on this planet...except the Chinese" - Man with Hitler hair being racist.

  1. Crayon, I would just like to point out that Exam has been recommended to me, but since you asked what the question was on F'book and it popped up on my Home page I have been informed there is no point! lol. Bad times. Likely to watch it anyway.
