not enough love...

Hello!

Well, after I posted my last entry my fingers were just itching to get onto some lovelinks action BUT though I like to shop shop shop I am not totally stupid so instead of getting the lovelinks or a string I did the next best thing....I got a lovelinks copy aka FAKE. YAY!

[Above image: not the one I got, I think it's a genuine.
All images courtesy of google images apart from the scrabble tile]

I'm sure this is just a fad of mine that I will quickly get bored of so I think I've made a good decision...I guess I'll know by this time next week (free p+p so I'm not expecting it to get here super fast but who knows!)

So all I need now is a pendant/charm of some sort. As I haven't really worn a necklace type thing before I have no idea what to go for, plus I have the harder task of rocking a piece of leather. I'm sure a wolf tooth would go with the leather but I'm not really a wolf tooth type of girl....

I have two ideas in my head:
look 1 = cute and quirky; which I could wear on Saturdays so just about anything would go. At least I don't need to worry about a colour palette as I'm usually in black or cream.
look 2 = pretty and sophisticated; this would be for work and is a toughie as my work clothes wouldn't be an obvious choice but I'm sure I'll think of something........I dunno....

Below is a scrabble tile pendant. Pixie Lott wore one in a MV and it's cute, def a Saturday charm, what do you think?

Next is my cute frog! The image is not accurate, I just google searched this one as the ebay one is protected or something; only problem with froggy is that he'll probably be upside down most of the time...

And then I've got my elephant. There are some really gorgeous one's on the market, but quite pricey so I'd have to get something plain like this...or maybe wait for my birthday?

And lastly, how cool is this?! It's a Miss Piggy pendant, one of a kind supposedly. But at a starting bid price of £18 I will never be wearing this, it's just not worth it for a fad :( But hey, if I end up rocking my leather string for 5 years then I will get this if it's still around!

Ok boy I need to get myself offline cos a) I'll be bankrupt with nothing to show but a handful of beads and b) it's frigging 1am and I wanted to be at work for 8am.

Goodnight folks xoxo

lovelinks

I want to talk about my new obsession: LOVELINKS.

Here is a link if you don't know about lovelinks (I didn't until yesterday!)

http://www.lesterandbrown.com/p1325-lovelinks-gold-plated-90cm-black-leather-necklacebracelet-ref-0732334-90.html

Background: So basically I can't wear (most) jewelry. I'm allergic to just about all metals and even gold gets me all itchy and stainless steel (watch backs) is a no no for me also, which is a shame. I can wear my darling pearls as there is no metal; my necklace has a silver clasp but it's a really cute chunky one so i wear it to the front so that it rests on my clothes and not on my skin. Anyway, for some reason last night I just really really wanted a bracelet or/and necklace so I was looking up leather bracelets/necklaces on ebay and came across a 90cm leather lovelinks necklace for £15. I thought that was a bit steep because you can get just a long leather 'thong' for £2 so I googled lovelinks and BAM my life as I knew it changed (RRP £25 btw).

My dilemma now is: do I just get a £2 thing or a rip off £25 thing, only difference being is the lovelinks 'polo' at the end of the string...the polo that I'm allergic too? I know it doesn't seem much of a dilemma but I swear to god I could not sleep last night I was fretting about it loads.

The nice thing about the lovelinks is that I would be able to wear it without any charms/pendants but if i got a 'string' then I would have to put something in it.

Is it sad for a girl to buy her own 'jewelry'?

And randomly, if I ever do find someone to marry I won't be able to wear my engagement/wedding ring....unless I string it onto my lovelinks!!!!!!

Catch up

[Keira Knightley courtesy of google images]

Hi Guys,

Just a mid-week ramble. Cooking dinner (bacon sarnie and pringles) and watching Hollyoaks at the moment. I am so classy! (Oh no the ending was sad).

My beauty 'aim' at the moment is to grow out my eyebrows. At the moment I've got what they call a 'natural shape' but I'm not aiming toget them sharply threaded into a neater shape but I've grown really attached to my little caterpillars so I might just go even bigger.....it looks good on a made up face (i think thick brows are good for a fat face?) but it's not a great look if i'm minimum make up and hair scraped back....we'll see soon I guess what I end up with (seriously wonky is the other 'option' lol)

I quickly popped into primark today to return a pair of patent red pointy shoes (I love them but seriously, skanky much?!)...

...but ended up getting a few other bits and bobs:

  • A 3/4 sleeve jacket - which I might return because it is a struggle to button up but I love it! Sorry for the crap picture below but I wanted to show you guys the cute bow on the back of the jacket.
  • Black snood - cheap and cheerful and it's gonna be freezing soon and I don't think you can have too many snoods and the like.
  • A bra (no picture thank god lol)
  • And my favourite suedette almond toe shoes in camel.nude, this is my 3rd pair. I'm worried they'll be sold out/discontinued soon.
Pictured below are the feet/boots of my friend at work. Not sure if the pic does them any justice but I WANT these boots. I was looking for them today (Primark, around the £18 mark) but no luck. And she got them from the Newcastle branch so I guess I won't be able to have a look there!

Pictured below is my potential dressing table. What do you think? It's from very.co.uk and rrp £199 but it's on sale for £100!! It doesn't come with a stool and so it might be easier to get something similiar but as a whole set from Argos (£160ish)....the other problem with this one is that it's bigger than the others so I'll have to measure the available space.

Do I like this?

So a while ago I wrote a post about how much I wanted a playsuit and tah da I went onto asos.com to have a look-see at the new stock and look what I've found!

Ok, I admit it, I'm not overly impressed. I am 'in like' not 'in love'. And actually I'm not even sure if I am 'in like' - the main problem I guess is the block print. It's a bit much for me. And the 2nd problem is the wrapover front. I cannot do wrapover. There's this whole lie surrounding fat women and the wonders of the wrapover and I totally don't get it.

But anyway, I'm not going to get this (esp as it's £36) but strangely enough I tried on a playsuit in primark today. It was gorgeous and it suited me (but I didn't buy it cos it was toooooo small) so the hunt for a playsuit is still on. I hope I find one. And I am looking forward to having one for winter cos it means I'll be able to wear it with tights and look like less of a sket ;)

Duffle do, duffle don't?

You know in life there's also a bunch of stuff you always want but for whatever reason you never get?

For me, one of those never-have items are dungarees and the other is a duffle coat.

The above is from Dorothy Perkins and is £65 before the discount. It's been in my shopping basket all day but I've decided to delete it. I love the idea of a duffle coat, and I love other people (like potentially SF!) in one but I just don't think it's for me. If I win the lottery I will definitely buy a duffle coat but for the amount of money this is it's not worth it for me. I can't wear it during the week to work (doesn't go with my work clothes) and so that leaves Saturday (since Sunday is pj day and I don't need to wear a coat with my pj's lol) and I doubt i'd wear it every Saturday so....yeah. Cost per wear would probably be £22.50 for Winter 2010!!

Oh well :(

I want!!!!!!

Oh man. So I just checked my hotmail email account and luckily saw I had 25% off anything at Dorothy Perkins until midnight tonight. So I've been looking at coats and I WANT THIS ONE!!!!

It's a gorgeous (well, i think so) camel trench coat, rrp £75. Sadly, all sizes apart from size 16 are sold out, and even more sadly, it's been a long time since I could fit into a size 16 :(

Luckily for me, they do have it in my size in black so I've put that into my virtual shopping basket alongside a few other coats (order, home delivery, try on, return in store). I hope I don't fall in love with all of them cos I can barely afford to keep one!! lol

And I guess realistically, I probably would have not looked great in a camel coat anyway, with my fat arse and sallow skin :(

Birthday wish list

Things i want for my birthday (or christmas! But i want a present for
each!!! Lol)

•a really big plant (complete with pot)
•a rug for my living room
•a dressing table and stool (this is what I want the most)

•asos and/or evans gift vouchers!!!
•Primark gift vouchers

What do you want for your bday/Christmas?

Howdy!

Hey guys :)

Was planning to do a 'proper' post today but havent come up with a
topic yet so just posting a quick 'hello' just incase i still have
writers block by the end of the day.

Ive had a long but good week since my return from cambridge. All
settled And finally unpacked - i was using the suitcase as a dumping
site but i finally got my act together and its ready to be returned to
my brother.

I was up before 8am today (had a lovely sleep though - isnt it nice to
wake up naturally!) and ive been in bed playing 'race or die' on my
penny pod for the last 4 hours!!!

Even though its only mid sept and my birthday isnt until december ive
been thinking hard about what i want for my birthday so that if im
asked i wont be caught unaware.

Actually ill post my bday wish list seperately so that i can forward
it to everyone i know lol

Hope you have all had a great weekend so far, have a lovely sunday xoxo

I heart mondays!

Hello :)

I wanted to just do a quick post before bedtime but then realised i
turned off my internet connection a while ago so guess this will 'go
live' tomorrow...

Anyway, how are we all today? As you can probably guess, i had a
lovely day.

My first day back at work was nice; it was nice to see all my friends
again :) It doesnt seem as though anything super exciting happened
whilst i was away but i was busy catching up on emails and i wrote a
super long report about my trip to cambridge; on paper (or even just
talking about it) - i cant explain how crazy it was.

Anyway, was very happy to be reunited with my skanky chicken shop at
lunchtime. Ive never ever been so happy to shovel down a box of grease
in my life!!! Lol People say living in london is expensive; it isnt if
you know where to go (and you've got a stomach lined with steel!!!)

Had a long day at work but it was a pleasure. After work A and i did a
bit of (window) shopping and i got some essentials from poundland. It
was so funny; when i was paying for my stuff A asked for the cashier
to pass her a can of 7up instead of bagging it. I dont think he spoke
much english or something but he gave her a blank look an kept
bagging, after unsuccessfully doing a few hand gestures she had to
erm, raise her voice a bit and got her drink. Before we left she said
to him something along the lines of, " ...and you smell. Go and buy
some deodorant, its only '1!" and then we left. I couldnt help
laughing. It doesnt seem that funny now but boy you had to be there!!!

I think that was the most exciting thing that happened to me today...

For dinner i made...something. I called my mum for help and i swear
that for the first bit of conversation she didnt know it was her
daughter. KMT lol Got plenty of left overs and though it was nice im
not looking forward to eating it for dinner for the rest of the week :(

Well, i hope we all have a great day tomorrow, sweetdreams blog babies

Back to business

Just a quick post before bedtime.

Its lovely to be back in london but its been a bit of a bump coming
back to 'real life'.

Its been weird not having every minute planned and plotted. I miss the
fancy food and gorgeous surroundings and i miss my new friends. Ive
already had a few invites on facebook but its not the same as seeing
them for 12 hours every day.

I went to work yesterday, no rest for the wicked and today was a
traditional pj day. Ive eaten popcorn for two dinners, frozen pizza,
oven chips and tuna toastie melts. Not quite fine cusine lol

Im really looking forward to going back to work tomorrow, which i know
is lame but i love work and my work peeps so yay! :)

Got a really busy work schedule ahead though so thats scary but im up
for the challenge ;)

Bought a few new tops and a dress and im looking forward to wear them
to work. And the tops all have sleeves so i dont need to sorry about
having to wear a cardigan. Ill try to get some pics up soon.

Loving the return of x factor. Last year's was a bit lame; i was
rooting for olly murs but honestly i dont think there was anyone with
the x factor. Fingers crossed we see some star quality for 2010. Im
really liking cher lloyd, she's def got the 'x swagger' lol

Lastly, goodluck to Sf and her babygirl; first day at reception
tomorrow. Im excited for them. I cant even remember my first day at
primary school but i totally remember my first day at secondary
school, maybe that will be a story to tell one day.

Time for bed now. Sorry for the random brain fart but at least im
posting!

Random stuff: asos haul, wedding cake, I heart my mum

Hi Guys,
So I've posted a few entries today so I hope I've been forgiven for my absence.

Before I go to bed (bed sweet bed!) I thought I'd quickly do a random post with some photo's I had on my phone, and then I think I'm up-to-date.

First photo shows my latest asos haul - first haul after my self-imposed ban. I had to get my Walk 10 outfit, and I had to order a lot to get my free next day delivery but I did send back quite a lot of the stuff shown.

When I did Walk 10 I wore a long white peacock t-shirt with leggings, and in my bag (prada across the body - the rucksack my brother lent me was just not cutting the mustard!!!) I had a blue festival poncho with the tags still on - it didn't rain so I've returned the poncho :) ...it wasn't really a poncho by the way, it was just like a normal lightweight waterproof but it had no fastenings, you put it on/off like a hoodie.

The next pic just made me laugh. Before I went to Cambridge my mum and brother came round to drop off a suitcase and stuff and bless my mum she had on these shoes and I had to take a pic to show you.

The last pic is of the gorgeous wedding cake L made for a mutual friends wedding. And L said she'd do one for me too.......so all I need now is someone to marry.....any offers?!

Challenge - Day 30: Walk 10!

Finally, let me tell you about the Walk 10 event I did on August 21st. Before I begin, let me be cheeky and say, my sponsorship page is open for 3 months so if you didn't sponsor me originally but wanted to, you haven't missed out, please go to:

www.justgiving.com/onepenny

So anyway, L, M, P and I walked 10k (6ish miles) around the beautiful Richmond park to raise money for the wonderful marie curie cancer care charity. We did it in just under 3 hours which is respectable and we did not finish last (thank god!!!)

It was tiring but totally worth it. I felt really proud of us for supporting such an amazing cause, especially since it was a real challenge for L and I, we're not quite the walk loads type!

Pictures speak louder than words, so here are some pics from the evening (we finished at 10pm).

Challlenge - Days 27-29

Hey Guys,

Finally reached the last few challenges for the 30 Day challenge, thank goodness! Some I found fun but some were a bit blah so I am happy I've (fianlly) reached the end.

Just to recap what I have left:

Day 27 — This month, in great detail
Day 28 — This year, in great detail
Day 29 — Hopes, dreams and plans for the next 365 days
Day 30 — Whatever tickles your fancy

This is really cheeky, but I'm officially skipping days 27 and 28 because I really can't a) remember b) be bothered to talk about my month and year in 'great detail', so that leaves me to talk about my hopes, dreams and plans.

I just want to be ok, to be happy. To wake up and be happy that I made it through the night. It use to always annoy my mum that I didn't have mega aspirations but actually it has served me well. Instead of dreaming and wishing I've just solidly trudged away at life and I am happy enough with my lot now. Yes, I wish I earned sh*tloads of money and could eat caviar for breakfast but I'm lucky enough. I love my job and the people I work with. I don't have a ton of friends but the friends I have are worth more than their wight in gold (or even more than MY weight in gold!!!). I can't afford to turn on my heating but hey at least I have penny palace, and hey, I have tons of clothes to layer up in lol

Small dreams - I hope that my legs start looking better soon: hair-wise the epilator has worked wonders on my legs but I'm marked up like an abused donkey!

I want an iphone, or a fancy smartphone. Upgrade is in March 2011 so looks like this dream will not be coming true very soon, but I am patient.

.......yeah, that's about right: I want nicer legs and a fancy phone. Shallow - moi!?

xoxo

Challenge - Day 26: My week in great detail/Cambridge

So from 6-10 Sept I went to Cambridge for work. I was on a course of sorts. I can't go into the detail because of the nature of my work but I just wanted to share with you some photo's from my free time.

I had the most amazing time. The thing I was on was intense but also fun. I left with my mind, heart and tummy at maximum capacity!!

As you can see from my photo's Cambridge is a beautiful place, especially the college I was staying at (King's College). My days started at 6-6:30am and didn't end before 6pm and we had a free hour before dinner was served at 7:45pm so we never left the college grounds (we could have but everything was closed) but on the Thursday we had 2 free hours to prepare for a gala dinner so we spent a bit of time outside and I'm glad cos we all know how much I love to get snap happy.

(Actually I lied - I did leave the grounds on Wednesday - a friend (who is living in Cambridge) came to see me, but this was around 8:30pm so we were just walking around in the dark but it was fun though).

Apart from the stuff I learned, in the past week I met some lovely people and I ate the most amazing food I've ever eaten in my life. Dinner was 3 course silver service each evening; I took pictures of every dinner/every course, here are a few pics to whet your appetite :)

We stayed in college accomodation, as you can see it wasn't five star but it was very clean and totally fine for five nights.....really looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight though!!

The image below will be my legacy at the event. Basically we were all getting ready for our gala dinner. I had just showered and washed my hair and was in my room butt naked when the frigging fire alarm went off. I paused for a few minutes swearing very loudly and then I threw on the clothes I had been wearing in the day and ran out onto the lawn where everyone was assembled. I was embarrassed to be standing amongst 100 new professional acquaintances with a towel on my head but hey, at least I know now that I value my life more then I am vain!!!

A sneaky facilitator had also taken a photo of me unaware and at our closing lecture it was put up on screen for everyone to have a laugh at - I was mortified but the photo she took was a good angle thank god!!!

And finally, the shifty looking bunch below were my group, the best group ever. Aren't we a good looking bunch? :)

knock knock...

...It's me!!!

Hello blog babies!

Wow, my last post was on 22nd August *hangs head in shame* Did you miss me?

I've missed blogging. Have had an amazing week which I WILL blog about soon. My aim blog wise is to finish the 30 day challenge (which has taken me a bout 100 days LOL); to update you on my Walk 10, and to update you on what I've been up to the past week.

See you in a mo :)
